VIDEOS: PeopleMover Evacuated in Disney World Today

Things in Disney World can be very magical, but not everything always goes exactly to plan.

Rides, restaurants, and forms of Disney World transportation can sometimes experience issues that cause them to shut down for a large part of the day or be evacuated. In mid-April the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover was evacuated in Magic Kingdom and today it was evacuated again!

A huge thank you to our reader Rose (@rose_red_disney on Instagram) for alerting us to this and sending us videos of the situation. In one video, Rose explains that they sat on the PeopleMover for about 30 minutes before they were eventually evacuated.

You can see as they pass by the PeopleMover vehicles that have been stopped on the track and as they walk above the Tomorrowland Speedway.

And here’s a look at the construction of the Tron Lightcycle Run attraction coming to Magic Kingdom from the PeopleMover as the guests were walking off during the evacuation.

We’re not sure what caused the PeopleMover to be evacuated or how long it will be unavailable. As of 6:25PM ET, the PeopleMover was listed as “Temporarily Closed” on the My Disney Experience app. We’ll keep an eye out for more information.
