Update: We were told many phone lines were down and to try again tonight or tomorrow.
It’s getting closer and closer to Halloween!
That means we’re getting ready for BOO Bash, Disney’s Halloween After Hours event that’s kicking off this August. We’ve already learned all about dates and pricing (and even some spooky sweets that’ll be up for grabs), and today, tickets officially go on sale.
Now, tickets are only available for Disney World hotel guests who have reservations booked for the days they want to attend BOO Bash. Sales open to the general public on June 15th! But we had quite the experience buying our tickets today, and we wanted to share it with you so you’d know what to expect.
First of all, tickets are not currently available to be purchased on the Disney World website (although that could change very soon), so we called instead. We had been told by multiple Cast Members that tickets would go on sale at 7AM today. However, when we called, we kept getting an error message that the call could not be completed.
We tried quite a few different numbers, including the line specifically for booking BOO Bash tickets (407-939-4240), the Help Desk (407-939-5277), V.I.Passholder (407-560-7277), and Recreation (407-939-1929). After dialing about 10 times, we got through on the Help Desk. Then, we were told to wait on the line for the next available agent.
Eventually, we were given an estimated wait time of 167 minutes (yikes!). Anddd that’s where we are now. A couple other members of our team tried calling and were told all lines are busy. Similarly, when we try to use the chat function on the Disney World website, we’re told all Cast Members are currently busy and received a pop-up message in the chat stating “if you are interested in Disney After Hours Boo Bash Tickets and have an active Walt Disney World Resort reservation for the date you are interested in, please call the Disney Reservation Center at 407-939-4240.”
The biggest issue we’re seeing here is a lack of communication. We spoke with a Cast Member yesterday to figure out where to call and what time sales supposedly began, but Disney never publicly shared this information. That’s probably leaving a LOT of people confused.
If ya need a little refresher, BOO Bash runs on select nights from August 10th-October 31st. Tickets are MUCH pricier than Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which it’s technically replacing, and the event includes free snacks, character cavalcades, and Trick-or-Treat stops. And of course, feel free to dress up in a costume — as long as it meets Disney’s guidelines!
Needless to say, if you’re trying to buy BOO Bash tickets this morning…good luck. If you’re trying to get through to Disney, we’d suggest trying any of the numbers we listed above (although again, our only success was with the Help Desk), and attempting to use the chat feature. We’re STILL on hold, but we’ll keep ya posted as this situation evolves more. Stay tuned to DFB!

I’m a travel agent. Yesterday I tried to get Boo Bash tickets for my customer who wants to go on Oct. 31st. I was on hold with the Disney travel agent line from 5 pm to 10 pm. I know the call center closed at 11 pm. At 10 pm someone finally answered. She said “sorry, but you can only buy Boo Bash tickets until 9 pm.” I was FURIOUS!! I’m now on hold again. This is ridiculous.

Thanks for suggesting the help line #! I had no luck yet with the 4240 #, but I got into the wait line right away at the 5277 #. 25 mins into a 100 minute wait. Wish me luck! I’m hoping the October tickets aren’t really sold out?!?! 😕🤞🤞 Can’t believe we can’t order online. This is a severely antiquated system!

Tried for Disney Boo Bash tickets. After 7 hours of attempting different numbers, finally got through around 3pm – only to be disconnected (after being put on hold for 2 hours and 5 minutes). Still trying today. I feel if we already have a reservation for that day in the park we should be able to get tickets for this. So frustrating that this isn’t an online ordering process!

It was an 8 hour process for me to score my Boo Bash tickets. Six hours before I could even get through (I was trying the designated number and the Passholder number), 90 minutes on hold once I got to the recorded menu, and 30 minutes to complete the transaction (I never got the email so the the rep had to verify my resort reservation). It sure is hard work to feed the Mouse these days.

Ok guys definitely call the 5277 number! I got into the queue right away and had a 103 minute wait. Got ahold of a cast member about hour and a half in and got our tickets reserved! She was so friendly and helpful! She helped me link my tickets as well.

Called several hundred times since yesterday and finally got in through the help desk number around 1:45 pm central time today. I have an estimated 85 minute wait time and I’m a third of the way there. Here’s hoping and wishing I get my tickets ✨

I had no luck yesterday tried All. Day. Long. This morning I called 100 times starting at 7:30 got put on hold and waited 3 hours before it was my turn. Spoke to the nicest cast member (thanks Faith) and got my tickets. So happy and thankful we get to party with Mickey and friends again! Be kind to the cast members they bring the magic!!!

I was able to order ours (3 tix) today (June 9) for early October. Took me half an hour to get through to Disney, then an hour and a half on hold. Good luck all!

Thank You for the info so far! Disney seems to have really dropped the ball so far. I do not have reservations on property, so am waiting for Tuesday to try to get our tickets. Been trying to find out what time to start calling, so you have answered that. Now just to have to waiting to start trying to get in! If don’t get tickets, we’ll just cancel our trip from Texas.. Have been to Halloween Party for the last 5 years and really hope I don’t break my streak..

I started calling to get tickets at 7 am the morning it opened. I called at one point 142 times (I can screen shot to prove) and got the busy signal. I called several other times on different numbers (42 times on DVC line.) Wasn’t able to get through until about 8 pm.
Christari says
And yes, 142 times on one line and 42 on another plus additional calls on other lines. I couldn’t even get placed on hold. Just “your call cannot be completed as dialed.”
Chris says
Couldn’t get through yesterday so I tried the DVC number around 2pm today (407-560-7277). Got through first try. Wait time was about 90 min. Talked to a very nice agent and purchased Boo Bash tickets for Oct. 26. She told me there were 800 callers on hold at that time.

It is clear that the good old days of premium guest service are gone at Disney…. Becoming too successful as what you do has gone to their heads at the upper levels of management for parks, resorts and guest services. To bad, Disney always were the benchmark for guest service, but clearly management is not on top of guest expectations when it comes to special events these days. So sad…

Was able to get 2 tickets just now in October after a 90 minute wait. I connected through the reservation center number. I feel so bad for those cast members taking angry callers. My experience was very pleasant once I got through.

Just got thru after being on hold for 2 1/2 hours, my only advise is to use the 407-939-4240 number (the other ones don’t work!) and if you press 2 for DVC or 3 for Passholder you WILL get disconnected if no cast members are available right then and have to redial over and over to just get back into the hold/queue line. I finally figured the heck with 10.00 off and just pressed 4 and got them. The only date sold out as of 5:00 today was 10/31. Good Luck and enjoy the songs while on hold!
Lydia says
My estimated wait time was 85 minutes. I got an answer at 84 minutes and was able to buy 2 tickets for the middle of October! Took about 15 minutes once I was talking to a cast member
Marjorie Black says
I have never used a Travel Agent before, so glad I did! I would never have to patience trying to get thru LOL and thankfully she got my tickets!
Nora Albaldawi says
I did eventually get through yesterday after calling a million times and getting through then cut off, I kept dialling the number on the boo bash page and got through, waited 2 hours on hold then got my tickets!!!!
Soooooo happy 😊
Angel says
I got my tickets on call number 288!!!
Kind of crazy but worth it.

Started calling yesterday, never got through. Today got through and was on hold for 1 hour 39 minutes. I was talking to the cast member when I got disconnected. Started all over. I was on hold this time for 2 hours and 1 minute. Finally able to purchase tickets! They are not fully booked. There are plenty of tickets for people who have reservations. No guarantee they won’t sell out once they become available to everyone on June 15. Awful process! they should have staffed more people to answer phones or sent a link by which you could purchase the tickets. They seemed to be very unprepared for the sale of this event. I have no ill will towards the poor cast members that I am sure are taking the brunt of the complaints. The Disney brass should have been much better prepared before starting this process.

Finally got through today. After 3 hours waiting, they couldn’t find my reservation. After waiting another half hour patiently, I told them the date in Aug I need. I thought Aug was the cheap month. I was told Aug ranged from $137-$148 and up. Guess they feel once you wait that long you’ll just pay anything. If it wasn’t a surprise gift I wouldn’t have taken them. I don’t think there are any at $129. Just hope it’s not like villains. That was way overcrowded. Garbage in Haunted Mansion line was literally overflowing. Fingers crossed the stress and price is worth it this time.
Rich M says
OH! One more thing I discovered. When it says “all circuits are busy, this is a recording”, don’t hang up right away. It might repeat that message two, three or four times, and then suddenly you get “Welcome to Disney”. If it repeats more than four times, then hang up and start over.

Just got 2 tix for Boo Bash for Oct 19! I’m excited because Halloween is my favorite holiday! Started the call at 9:05pm Eastern time on June 9 and a very pleasant Tammy answered at 10:48 pm (so almost a 2 hour wait on hold). She said there will be no character meet & greets or fireworks but we will get special treats and souvenirs at the event. Tickets are non refundable and not transferable so anything happens to your plans you will be out $$$.
I called 407-939-4240 and that call center is staffed from 7am to 11pm Eastern she said. Good luck everyone!

Doug, good luck!
