One of my favorite hidden gems in Disney World is the Liberty Square Market, located next to the Hall of Presidents in Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
This open-air market offers a great variety of eats that you might not be able to find anywhere else in Disney World, including filling snacks like baked potatoes and corn on the cob! And on my recent visit, I noticed an updated menu…
I love the old-fashioned looking mug holding the frozen slush! 😉
But more on this menu later. My favorite new addition was the baked sweet potato! Scroll down for my review and pics!
There is also a variety of fresh fruits and veggies sold here along with grab and go items like potato chips, Goldfish crackers, Craisin trail mix, and Cracker Jack.
I love the whole fresh fruit options…
And juices (bottled and boxed), grab and go refrigerated fruit and veggies, and more offerings make this one of the healthier pit stops in Disney World!
But what I love the MOST about this spot is the access to the freshly baked potatoes and freshly boiled corn on the cob. On recent visits I sampled the Baked Potato and Baked Sweet Potato just to see if they were of edible quality or should be passed by. My findings? Definitely give these a go!
Served with Sour Cream, cheese, and butter, the Baked Potato is of a good size, and is fresh and hot. It also tasted better than a standard fast food baked potato (comparing to someplace like Wendy’s)! I was very impressed. This is a great snack or quick lunch on chilly day in the Magic Kingdom.
The Sweet Potato was on special when I visited, and cast members weren’t sure how long it would be on the menu at Liberty Square Market. So if you’re a sweet potato fan…grab it soon!
The sweet potato was deeelicious, and I’m not really a bit sweet potato fan! Also sold with the fixin’s, I opted to just eat the potato plain and loved the flavor.
Interestingly, the sweet potato is noted as a Disney Dining Plan snack credit, but the baked potato no longer is listed as a snack credit. This is strange to me since they’re the same price. Just double check with the cast member when you’re checking out to be sure either way.
Personally, I like to pair the potatoes with chili or soup from nearby counter-service restaurants. That makes a great mid-day snack or meal that will fill you up and really keep you going for the rest of your Disney day…without feeling weighed down!!
TIP: Seating can be found at tables behind Liberty Square Market, or at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments.

Sweet potatoes are one of the few veggies that my picky daughter actually likes, so this is a huge development for us. I see that it’s served with cheddar cheese, which seems pretty yuck to me. Did you notice if they had any cinnamon sugar or something similar? Thanks!

This location also is the oly place in the Magic Kingdom you can get a frozen coke. But it’s not on the menu…

I am a sweet potato fanatic, and my favorite way to eat them is with savory flavors–salt, cheese, etc. I hope they keep them here! A sweet potato paired with the hummus sandwich from CHH would make an AWESOME meal.

great tip! As I’m planning my daughter’s first trip I find myself really racking my brain for places with healthy food my (then) one year old will be able to eat. Of course, who knows what shel’ll actually be liking then, but what can I say…I’m a planner!

I love the backed potato!! Sleepy Hallow used to have Chicken/Rice soup, and that with a potato was an awesome lunch. (two snack credits!)
Try upstairs of Columbia Harbor House as a great location to enjoy your potato and to get out of the sun! Love it!

Hey, where’s the brown sugar? You have to have brown sugar with your sweet potato! YUM
Jenn says
Agree with everyone else…where’s the cinnamon and/or brown sugar? 🙂 You can’t eat cheddar cheese with a sweet potato!

As a vegetarian, it’s great to see more healthy snacks at Disney!

I love baked potatoes, you can never go wrong…except if you use all those toppings. With all of those calories, you may as well just get an ice cream Sundae. Or better yet a school bread at Norway.

Love that potato and sweet potato. All those fruits looked great, too. I agree, upstairs at the Columbia Harbor House is a great place to enjoy your treats and get out of the sun!

So excited with the healthy food choices at Disney….

I liked the corn on the cop last October. It wasn’t great, but it was “local fair” quality and got the job done as a nice healthy snack. Though I smothered it in butter, which negates the “healthy” part but. I generally love corn on the cob so I’m in no way unbiased.
When I was there someone was walking over from Casey’s with a tray hot dogs for an emergency refill because the cart they normally bring the dogs in was not going to be ready for a while, and they just had a run of HS students that cleaned out them out. It was strange to see the Casey’s uniform in Liberty Square.

Okay…ALL of that food just looks really, really good.

So glad to see awesome, vegetarian food options at WDW.

My mother-in-law used to be a Disneyland cast member, and she often told me about how much she enjoyed snacking on the pickles that were sold in Adventureland (right outside of the Jungle Cruise). I decided to try one from the Liberty Square Market when I was there a few months ago and I had one of those “my mother-in-law was right” moments. Those suckers are really good!

Jennifer! You are so right! The Lighthouse Sandwich at CHH is one of my absolute FAVORITE meals on property, and a sweet potato would be the perfect thing to go with it instead of the chips! (But those are yummy, too!) I love the idea of having a place to eat a sweet potato in the parks, and Liberty Square seems perfect for it. I’ll have to bring along my own cinnamon and brown sugar to go with it. 🙂
I always remember this place because they decorate it REALLY prettily for the fall time. 🙂

So glad to see the return of the sweet potato at Magic Kingdom! I remember when I was a kid back in the 80’s/90’s they used to sell them from a cart right by the Haunted Mansion. Back then they were served with a little cup of brown sugar and marshmallows. It used to be one of my favorite Disney lunches. Hope they still have them when I visit in August.

Yum! Going on my list now…

Do you know if they still have this at Liberty Square Market? I’m planning a trip out there…

Does anyone else sell baked potatoes apart from Liberty Square?
