We’re eating our way around the booths on the first day of the 2021 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival!
We’re extra excited to try all of the new offerings at this year’s festival, including the brand-new booth, Brew-Wing at the EPCOT Experience! Let’s dive in and check it out!
You can find Brew-Wings at the EPCOT Experience, which is located between Test Track and the Mexico Pavilion! This is a new booth at this year’s festival, so of course we had to try everything on the menu!
Menu
As the booth name suggests, the food menu is mostly comprised of chicken wings, with five wing flavors available. If wings aren’t your thing, there are also two flatbreads to choose from.
And, of course, there’s a solid selection of brews too, with three beers and three ciders on tap! You can try all three with either the beer flight or cider flight.
Something interesting to note about this booth is that they finally brought these kind of menu items to Disney World! The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival has had a menu like this for years, but with Brew-Wings being a new booth in EPCOT this year, we haven’t seen this type of food here before.
That being said, you can get your wing fix over at Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, however, as long as the festival lasts, you can pick up wings in EPCOT, too!
Food
Now, let’s try some wings! Each order of wings cost $7.50 at Brew-Wing and came with celery and ranch!
First up, we have the Garlic-Parmesan Wings with Celery and Ranch, a gluten/wheat-friendly option.
These wings were pretty good, but we wished there was a stronger garlic flavor in them.
Next, we tried the Barbecue Wings with Celery and Ranch, which are also gluten/wheat-friendly.
To be honest, these were pretty much exactly what you think of when we say “barbecue chicken wings.” The sauce was tangy and sweet, the chicken was tender, and you can get wings like this in most bars! We were totally fine with that (no shade at all to bar wings!), but they weren’t surprising in any way.
Now it’s time for some Teriyaki-Sesame Wings with Celery and Ranch! Note, this is the only wing flavor that’s NOT listed as gluten/wheat-friendly.
We thought these were good (with plenty of messy sauce!), and they reminded us of other teriyaki wings we’ve had in restaurants. Like the barbecue wings, they were good, but you might be disappointed if you’re expecting something new and amazing!
Let’s move right along to the Traditional Buffalo Wings with Celery and Ranch, another gluten/wheat-friendly option.
These wings were good! They were pretty much your average buffalo wings, with plenty of buffalo sauce and nice, tender chicken meat.
For the final wing flavor, we have the Mango-Habanero Wings with Celery and Ranch, which are also gluten/wheat-friendly.
The Mango-Habanero wings were our favorite of all the wings! There wasn’t a very strong mango flavor, but the Habanero was definitely there! They were pretty spicy, and our noses were running after a few bites!
Next up, let’s try some flatbread! We started with the Cheese Flatbread, which cost $9.
And we also have the Pepperoni Flatbread, which you can get for $9.50!
Both flatbreads were crispy and light, with a good amount of sauce and cheese on top! The pepperoni on the Pepperoni Flatbread was pretty much average! We enjoyed eating these, but we probably wouldn’t order them again with other options around! They might be a good option for kids, especially if you’re traveling with picky eaters — can’t go wrong with a good pizza flatbread!
Drinks
First up is the brews, which we had as the Beer Flight for $9.75. You can get individual drinks at $5 for 6oz and $9 for 12oz.
The Beer Flight includes the Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company Pineapple Vibes Blonde Ale., the Central 28 Beer Company Groveland Road Blood Orange IPA, and the Wicked Weed Brewing Watermelon Dragonfruit Session Sour! We thought the Blonde Ale had a really prominent pineapple flavor! It wasn’t too sweet, which we appreciated! The fruity flavor and light taste made it a really refreshing drink.
The Central 28 Beer Company Groveland Road Blood Orange IPA was one of our favorite drinks so far! It also had a strong fruit flavor without being too sweet. Next we had the Wicked Weed Brewing Watermelon Dragonfruit Session Sour. In the Sour, first you get the Watermelon flavor, which is nice and tart. Then the Dragonfruit takes over and mellows it out! We thought this was another refreshing and flavorful drink.
Now moving on to the ciders! The Cider Flight is also $9.75. Like the Beer, you can get individual drinks at $5 for 6oz and $9 for 12oz.
Included in the flight is the Bold Rock Honeycrisp Hard Cider, the Starcut Ciders Magpie Hard Cider, and the Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Apple Lantern Roasted Pumpkin. The Honeycrisp Cider is nice and tart, and it really reminds us of fall! All of the ciders in this flight had warm, fall flavors! We followed that up with the Starcut Ciders Magpie Hard Cider, which was another good fall flavor! It was a dry cider, and we enjoyed it a lot!
Finally, we had the Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Apple Lantern Roasted Pumpkin. This was probably the most fall-like flavor of them all! (How could it not be??) It was sweet, and the pumpkin flavor was prominent in this drink.
Overall
In general, the wings were tender and tasty, but they weren’t really anything special. They tasted like pretty normal wings that you might get at other restaurants! As wing fans ourselves, we definitely enjoyed them! But we weren’t really blown away by these. If you’re trying to get new and unique flavors at this festival, you might want to snack elsewhere. But both the wings and flatbread were good for people who aren’t trying to be experimental in their Food & Wine snacking!
The drinks, on the other hand, were some of our favorite so far at the festival! The sweet, fruity flavors in the Brews with the fall flavors of the Ciders were *chef’s kiss* delicious!
