We’ve been seeing more and more locations and guest offerings return to Disney World over the past few weeks, including some of our favorite dining spots like Casey’s Corner as well as the announcement that the remaining closed Disney World Resort hotels would be open by the end of this year, including Port Orleans and the two remaining All Star Resorts.
When it comes to traveling around Disney World, most transportation options have been available for some time now, but we have been waiting for news on when the EPCOT Monorail line would resume services!
It appears that the EPCOT Monorail line will return this Sunday, July 18th!
Theme park journalist Scott Gustin shared the news via Twitter, saying that the Monorail service will begin its services daily one hour before EPCOT’s park opening time and conclude one hour after EPCOT’s park closing time.
NEW: The EPCOT Monorail will officially reopen on Sunday, July 18.

The EPCOT Monorail line has not been available to guests since March 2020, when Disney World closed its parks and resorts due to the pandemic. Since then, the Magic Kingdom Monorail line has been available (albeit without the Polynesian station), but guests would need to find alternative transportation to EPCOT, like the Skyliner or the buses.
This will make it even easier for guests to travel to EPCOT, especially with the Food and Wine Festival set to kick off tomorrow, July 15th! Be sure to follow along for more of the latest news and updates from Disney World!

Yall wrote June instead of July
Alyssa says
I noticed that the article said June 18, not July 18. I’m sure that everyone knows what you mean, but you may want to correct the typo anyway! 🙂
Emwich says
Might want to edit the article and change it from June to July. 🙂
Shane says
Typo *July 18
Ryan says
*July 18th right?
DFB Sarah says
Thanks, everyone. The writer fixed this typo so the post is accurate now. 🙂

We are so excited about this! If we are staying at Beach Club and want to go to Magic Kingdom in the morning, would we not be able to use the Epcot monorail by crossing through Epcot until 2PM with the park hopper rules?
Rob says
Can you take the Monorail from Epcot to Magic Kingdom??
DFB Sarah says
Rob, the EPCOT Monorail travels between the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and EPCOT’s front entrance. To get to Magic Kingdom, you’ll ride the EPCOT Monorail to TTC, then transfer to the Magic Kingdom Express OR the Magic Kingdom Resort Monorail. Both options have a stop at Magic Kingdom; the Express skips the Monorail Resorts for a quicker arrival to the Park.
DFB Sarah says
Emily, that’s correct. You’d need to scan into the Park in order to walk to the front entrance for the Monorail, so you’d then be prevented from hopping until 2PM. Does that make sense? Unfortunately it’ll be the bus for you to get to Magic Kingdom from Beach Club (unless you want to start at EPCOT and then Park Hop to MK in the afternoon).
