If you’ve been to Disney World recently, you probably used your phone a decent amount during your trip.
Specifically, you likely used the My Disney Experience app a lot to place your mobile orders, check wait times, make dining reservations, and more. But today, the My Disney Experience app experienced some technical issues!
Earlier today, the My Disney Experience app experienced some technical issues. Right when we opened the app, it showed us an error message indicating that some of Disney’s digital experiences may be unavailable and that they were actively working to resolve the issue.
While we were able to navigate through other portions of the app, we did see this error message pop up repeatedly.
One of our DFB reporters noted that they had checked on the app about an hour before and that it appeared to be experiencing issues at that time as well and was not displaying wait times.
The app still appeared to be experiencing issues just a few minutes before the 1PM Boarding Group sign-up time for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. That surely led to some stressful moments for various guests.
Our reporter in Hollywood Studios ultimately was able to log in through the app, but was prompted to check their email for a code. Be aware that this is something that could happen when you sign into the app following an app issue and that could add to your time logging in. This can become an issue when trying to get a Boarding Group, where every second counts.
Ultimately, the issues with the app were resolved and our reporter in Hollywood Studios was able to get a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance at 1PM.
But, when the app experiences issues, it can cause some effects in other areas as well. One of our reporters was in Magic Kingdom and they said they saw about 3 different Cast Members get asked about it. Additionally, Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom started serving guests without the use of Mobile Order specifically because the app was down.
The app eventually started working again, however, and we overhead Cast Members instructing guests that they would no longer be offering walk-up service.
So, it seems the issues with the app have been resolved. But, this is a good thing to keep in mind for the future. Issues with the Disney World app can happen. These issues could happen at inopportune times (like right before Boarding Groups become available) and/or could impact a variety of things in Disney World, like the ability to place a mobile order.
These are circumstances and situations to be aware of and (as best you can) be prepared for. If the app goes down just before you’re planning to place a mobile order, be sure to check if any restaurants that normally just focus on mobile orders are offering walk-up service.
If the app goes down just before Boarding Groups become available, be sure to keep refreshing your app and logging in. You can also reach out to a Cast Member to see if they have any updates as to how the situation is being handled and when it is expected to be fixed.
And, be sure to keep closing the app and reopening it, or otherwise refreshing it, to see if and when the issue gets resolved.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more updates and we’ll let you know what we find!

Oh, this is not good. Is there a way to survive a trip to the parks without using the App or Apps. I am old school and do not use Apps…ever. I find them confusing and I live in an analog world. What can I do…can I survive, can I get food ?

Disney having app problems is not a good way to keep customers happy . Disney needs to fix the problems the I T should be better than it is Disney spend the money . I was just at Disney parks they were having problems at the dole whip stand we tried the app no go needed to stand in line . A big deal not really but it would of been easier to order and go .
