Lots of you will remember when I spotted Upcountry Beverages in Animal Kingdom for the first time — I sampled some yummo frozen drinks, braved the pouring rain, and ended up with the Maharaja Margarita! 🙂 [Editor’s Note: Since the writing of this post, the name of Upcountry Beverages has been changed to Warung Outpost.]
Well, on my recent visit I was interested to note that the daiquiris are gone from the menu, and the whole thing is margaritas now!! So I just had to try all three…
Fortunately for my ability to stand up straight, they offer all three of these refreshing margaritas in one delightful drink — the Triple Yeti Blast!
Yowza, eh?! The layers of strawberry, lime, and mango were frosty with just the right amount of sweet-tart and a little kick. My favorites, in order, were lime (more tart than the others), strawberry, then mango. While all three of these treats are similar to other frozen margaritas sold at kiosks around property, it’s pretty awesome to have them all buddied up like this.
And note that these do not come out of a blender, but are sold from those giant, industrial smoothie machines; so while they don’t taste homemade necessarily, they ARE very smooth.
All that said, since you will never see me complain about yet another spot to grab a margarita, I definitely give the Triple Yeti Blast a happy thumbs up! It’s a great spot to stop on the “long trek” between Africa and Asia. 😉
Plus, it always helps when the cast members at a dining location are awesome, and these ones definitely were!
What do you think? Will you miss the Kali River Colada or the Bali Hai Daiquiri, or do more margarita options suit you just fine? 😉 Leave a comment below!

bleh for some reason I can’t do artificial mango flavor but maybe they’d layer strawberry-lime-strawberry!

OMG! We just got back from Disney… and I totally missed this! Bummer… looks REFRESHING!!
AJ says
Niki — I bet they’d do that for ya!! Yeah; the mango is my least favorite as well — to sweet.
Chris — It seems like it’s going to be permanent, so hit it up on your next visit! 🙂

I’ll have to remember this for my trip in November.

Do these frozen margarta’s taste the same as the ones served in Mexico? I hope so.
Jenny says
I’m a margarta girl so I’m not bummed about there not being any daquiris.
I would want the Strawberry, lime, strawberry. yumm
🙂

Mmmm, I think the Maharaja Lime Margarita is calling my name! My upcoming trip may have to be renamed the May-garita trip, and that is such a good thing. Options in all three parks and Downtown Disney: this kiosk, High Octane Refreshments at HS, Paradiso 37, and of course the crown jewel of WDW booze, La Cava!

It seems a little weird to miss a cocktail from a place I’ve never stopped at and who’s version I’ve never tried, but I do. I love retro cocktails that you don’t see featured much any more; and I am afraid that daiquiris are rapidly becoming retro. They were most popular in the fifties and the sixties and certainly passed in popularity over the last twenty or thirty years by the margarita and other newer drinks.
We know how hard it is to find some of these retro drinks at WDW, so I feel badly I never had one at the AK. Surely they could have left one on the menu. Happy for AJ though.
AJ says
JoAnn — Yes, indeed! Let me know if they change or update the menu!
Rob — Similar, but a bit better!
Jenny — Me, too!
Jennifer — HA HA!! Yes on the May-Garita trip!
Alan — Very good point, my friend.

Best frozen margarita on property, and I’ve tried most of them. In fact Triple Yeti is so good that I would be willing to visit AK based on the sole premise of having that drink.

This is on my “must have” list. That’s what I love about http://www.disneyfoodblog.com. I’ve probably walked past this place dozens of times and never noticed this great beverage!
