Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Magic Kingdom!
And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
Magic Kingdom Food Update
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
It’s time for another DFB snack hack, folks! We first started by grabbing the Chocolate Bundt Cake with purple icing at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe for $5.49.
Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies
Then we headed over to Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies for the Chocolate Milkshake for $7.99.
A Cast Member gave us some extra galactic sprinkles to put on our cake, even though it didn’t come with the treat. (Cast Members really are the best, aren’t they?)
Just like any fun milkshake, we decided to mix things up a bit and make the Chocolate Bundt Cake Shake! And, yes, it was JUST as good as it looks!

Magic Kingdom Merchandise Update
Frontier Trading Post
We recently spotted the new limited edition Star Wars Resistance Pin in parks outside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And, now the Magic Kingdom is also home to the accessory featuring Rey on one side…
…and Chewbacca on the other for $19.99.
When you’re getting all those steps in as you explore the Magic Kingdom, the Apple Watch is a great tool to track your progress! And, you can make your watch pop with bands inspired by Marvel…
…Maleficent…
…and Donald Duck for $34.99 each!
Emporium
As we’re making your packing and to-do lists for the parks, your kids can help with your vacation planning by using the new Spider-Man Stationary!
There are SO many items inside to use, like markers, scissors, a notebook…
…pencils, a glue stick, a ruler, erasers, and even more! And, your kids can use all of that at home or on the go for only $24.99!
Honestly, The Great Mouse Detective is a highly underrated Disney movie! So, we’re as happy as ever to see the 35th anniversary of the film celebrated with a limited edition MagicBand! While we’ve seen the MagicBand online, it’s made its way into the Emporium.
Ratigan is causing chaos on one side.
And our detective heroes are on the other side as they quickly try to solve the case.
Plus, the MagicBand comes in this BEAUTIFUL commemorative box for $39.99.
If Disney World is your happy spot, then you’re going to want the latest shirts on the shelves of the Emporium! While the long-sleeve reminds you that it’s good to be “home” in the parks.
The other tee lets everyone know that you’re having the “best day ever” for $36.99!
The Emporium also had yet another Apple Watch Band in stock with a BUNCH of your favorite Marvel Comics for $34.99 too!
Whether you’re finding merchandise that’s cute or hilarious, sometimes they’re just so great that they fly off the shelves! And, that’s definitely been the case for the now restocked and adorable Orange Bird Plush…
…as well as the hilarious Chewbacca Plush for $26.99.
Fantasy Faire
If Disney teaches us anything, it’s that magic doesn’t exist just inside the parks. It’s important to bring it everywhere, which is why you should absolute “Bring Kindness” into the world with Fantasy Faire’s newest hat for $27.99!
Hundred Acre Goods
Today’s our favorite day because all that SUPER cute Winnie the Pooh merchandise we spotted in EPCOT’s UK Pavilion has made its way to the Hundred Acre Goods gift shop! You can find cups…
…pillows…
…shirts…
…and even home decorations (this one’s $29.99!) themed after the original design of the Winnie the Pooh characters.
(Who else is kind of obsessed with Pooh in his guard outfit with the telephone box??)
Sir Mickey’s
Sometimes, we see merchandise for kids that we can’t help but want for ourselves. And, today is one of those days because there is a Light-Up Princess Petticoat at Sir Mickey’s!
The bottom pink layer of the skirt has symbols of the various princesses.
The silky top layer can light up whenever you press a button along the side! You can take this petticoat home now that it’s been restocked for $29.99.
Memento Mori
Speaking of restocks, we noticed that the Haunted Mansion Funko Pop Hat…
…and Gravestone Salt and Pepper Shakers had also been restocked at Memento Mori!
Over your dinner conversations, you can talk about “good old Fred” (what a guy)…
…or the “dear departed brother Dave” as you plan your next visit to the Haunted Mansion! The pair of shakers is $19.99, so you can snag them for yourself or give them as a gift.
Star Traders
If “all you need is love,” then all we need is this mug! The new Love Mug at Star Traders has a shiny, pink coating with “love” in cursive on the front. And, that little Mickey head for the “o” just makes it that much cuter for $14.99.
Cinema Sweets
If you’re looking for a mug that’s a little more vibrant, though, then the Mary Poppins Mug might be the one you’re dreaming about! Mary’s silhouette is flying away on one side.
The rest of the mug also has symbols inspired by the film, like carousel horses and her giant carpet bag.
The handle is a ruler, since Mary Poppins measures to be “practically perfect in every way.”
The side of the mug also has a quote from the movie for $19.99!
Uptown Jewelers
We’re getting closer and closer to Halloween as decorations start to arrive in the parks! And, the festivities wouldn’t be complete without a few accessories to match! You can stock up early over at Uptown Jewelers with the Hocus Pocus Pandora Charm…
…that stars the famous Sanderson Sisters for $65.
Or, you can opt for Madame Leota’s presence on the Haunted Mansion Pandora Charm…
…that has the attraction’s logo on the back as well for $75!
Magic Kingdom Entertainment Update
Rope Drop
As summer comes to an end in the parks, the crowds haven’t slowed down yet as everyone takes in the last moments of vacation time! And, rope drop was EXTRA busy in the Magic Kingdom this week!

There was a huge crowd outside of the castle prior to to the park opening, as everyone waiting to explore the Magic Kingdom for the day.
The entrance that was moving the slowest after rope drop was directly in front of Cinderella Castle…
…while the crowds who used the Liberty Square entrance moved the fastest.
There’s still currently no welcome show in the morning, even though the Magic Kingdom does play music to kick off the morning and the park’s opening.

Magic Kingdom Construction Update
Closures
Rides do undergo quick bits of maintenance from time to time. But, this past week, we saw THREE attractions close for maintenance in a row! In Fantasyland, “it’s a small world” shut down for three days…
The front of the ride noted that “it’s a small world” was closed temporarily.
A black curtain covered any parts that you could see into the attraction space. It reopened with a new paint job.
The Liberty Belle Riverboat was also down at one point as Cast Members waited on technicians to fix the boiler.
Signs were in front of the attraction as well to notify guests of the closure.
Frontierland
Disney World is constantly under construction nowadays, it seems like! Frontierland was no stranger to the famed “pardon our pixie dust” sign too as construction moved along in the Magic Kingdom.
The areas stretching from the Country Bear Jamboree…
…all the way to the Frontier Trading Post were walled off at the moment.
However, there were signs directed guests on how to enter the store since the Frontier Trading Post is still open, even with the construction.
While we were in Frontierland, we also noticed that there were a bunch of new lights fixed around this area of the park.
Various kinds of lights were placed along storefronts.
They were also on attractions and elsewhere to light up the walkway and atmosphere.
Since the BOO Bash will be starting soon, we asked Cast Members if the lights had to do with set-up for the Halloween Parties. Although they believed this to be the case, nobody could confirm it for sure at this time!
Tomorrowland
Over the course of the week, we explored the Magic Kingdom, the construction on the Tomorrowland entryway’s ground was finally completed!
At the beginning of the week, there were a few final things to wrap up for the construction…
…before the finished ground with alternating designs of light and dark gray added an extra pop to the atmosphere!
Jungle Cruise
We are getting SO close to the completed construction on the Jungle Cruise refurbishment in Disney World! We’ve seen lots of changes recently, but we noticed a big switch during our latest cruise! Previously, there used to be a seen with Indigenous people.
But it has since been removed to make way for new stories and characters instead!
Tarps are still up along some of the areas as well, so we’ll have to keep you updated on when the refurbishment will be completed soon!
Mask Signs
Now that masks are required indoors once again in Disney World, mask signs have returned all around the property to remind guests of this change. Throughout the week, we saw them pop up at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
There also at the Magic Kingdom entrance…
…wait time screens…
…outside of trash cans, and more.

Me says
I just learned what “rope drop” meant from this video. All along, I thought it just meant, line up at the entrance before the opening of the park.
