Disney Cruise Line’s fleet has been gradually returning to the sea, with the Disney Dream already back to sailing in the Bahamas! A lot has changed on board, though, and Disney is constantly updating their policies.
Now, if you’re planning a Disney Cruise vacation soon, you might want to listen up — we’ve got some important updates to share!
The Disney Fantasy was set to resume sailing on September 4th, 2021. In a newly released statement from Disney, there are some changes to this plan.
We have now learned that the Disney Fantasy voyage scheduled to depart on September 4th is canceled. According to Disney, “Guests who have paid their reservation in full have been offered the choice of a cruise credit to be used for a future sailing or a full refund. Guests who have not paid their reservations in full will automatically receive a refund of what they have paid so far.”
If you were scheduled to take a cruise on September 4th, be sure to check your email; affected guests should receive communication from Disney Cruise Line with more information. If you’re still interested in booking a trip on the Disney Fantasy, we have another important update!
Disney shared that the Disney Fantasy will now resume sailing on September 11, 2021, with 4-night cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida. You can book a 4-night cruise starting on August 25, 2021.
One thing to note is that the Disney Fantasy will only visit Disney Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island in the Bahamas). Disney expects to resume longer, 7-night voyages in October. If you are booked for a seven-night Disney Fantasy voyage departing in September or early October, your reservation will be automatically adjusted to a four-night itinerary with the same departure date.
If your voyage was modified, you will be refunded the difference in cost. Disney also noted that “Guests that remain on their original sail date will receive a $400 non-refundable onboard credit per stateroom that can be used toward onboard purchases. These Guests will also receive a 25% discount that can be applied to most future sailings taken by September 30, 2022.”
If guests are not interested in these modifications, Disney is offering full refunds for those that wish to cancel their trip. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as plans change and we have more information, so stay tuned to the DFB for more updates!
