No matter how much planning you do for your Walt Disney World vacation, some things are just out of your control!
The weather can be unpredictable, your favorite snack could be mysteriously missing, and rides can break down with no opening in sight. And, that’s exactly what’s been going on with a ride in EPCOT lately!
Living with the Land is STILL closed in EPCOT!
The ride has been closed recently, so we checked again today, August 30th, to see if it was open yet. We first looked at the My Disney Experience app, which showed the ride was still closed.
We then stopped by the ride to double-check, and we found that it’s still closed. This is the 10th day in a row it’s been closed!
Cast Members told us that they’re hoping Living with the Land will open by the end of this week, but said they are still trying to fix the technical difficulties within the ride and that timeline is not a definite. Last week, Cast Members said the issue is a technical difficulty with the alarm system, which is a safety issue.
But, Cast Members did say that the boats are operating.
We do not know when the ride will reopen.
We’ll keep you updated if we find out more or see Living with the Land open up, so stay tuned to DFB!

Hi and thanks for the update. Is the ride the only thing closed there, or is the entire pavilion, the Land, closed? Is the eating and food area still open? Keep up the good work DFB!

They are adding seat restraints to prevent people leaving the boats

We were there right away Saturday morning hoping to go on (it’s a favorite) when it was down and a cast member came and told the others at the line entrance that they needed to start telling people it would be down for the entire day. She said that was extremely rare for it to be down all day, and now it’s been several!

I’m gonna guess that the safety sensor system also failed during the cucumber incident and when tested then they thought that it was fixed and some recent testing has shown that not to be the case. So now it’s tear apart everything to find the fault and fix it and that can be an extended outage period. Or maybe they figured out what was wrong and there are a ton of sensors that need to be replaced thru the system.
