We love our sweet treats in Disney World!
And how could we not when there are so many to choose from? Dole Whips, alcoholic ice cream, cookies from Gideons…oh! And who could forget ALL of those sweets over in Hollywood Studios right now for Halloween?! It’s a great time to have a sweet tooth in Disney World and it just got even BETTER because we found FOUR new cupcakes today in Animal Kingdom! And, guess what? They’re all adorably themed to Russell’s Wilderness Explorer Badges from Pixar’s Up!
First, over at Restaurantosaurus, we found a Dinosaur Badge Cupcake!
This has chocolate cake, chocolate cookie cheesecake filling, chocolate frosting and a white chocolate dinosaur badge topper with chocolate candied rocks for $5.99!
Talk about a lot of chocolate! You won’t see us complaining though, because this was delicious for those of us who LOVE chocolate!
The cheesecake filling was super rich and creamy, and the best part of the whole dessert. It compliments the chocolate perfectly. This is designed for chocolate lovers, so if you don’t love chocolate or cheesecake, this is not for you, because both of those flavors are super dominant. But if chocolate is your thing, this cupcake will be, too!
Next, we had the Flamingo Badge Cupcake at Flame Tree BBQ! This is a coconut cupcake with exotic fruit filling, coconut frosting, strawberry pearls and a white chocolate flamingo badge topper for $5.99.
The Flamingo Cupcake was VERY heavy on the coconut and fruity flavors! The frosting was rich and you absolutely have to like coconut for this one, because it’s practically all coconut!
This was almost too coconutty for us, but the fruity filling inside had a citrusy flavor that saved the cupcake!
Moving on to Creature Comforts, we tried the Grape Soda Badge Cupcake! This cupcake is sooo Instagram worthy — just look how fun it is!
This cupcake is a vanilla cupcake with grape soda flavored custard and grape flavored frosting for $5.99. The grape soda badge on top is made out of white chocolate!
This cupcake is *grape*, if we do say so ourselves😉. But seriously, the main flavors here are grape and more grape, so you gotta like grape flavored things to enjoy this one!
We thought it was a super unique treat — it’s not like you see grape flavored cupcakes very often! The grape soda flavored custard inside was creamier and a bit better tasting than the grape flavored frosting on top. If you’re more into basic chocolate and vanilla desserts though, maybe try something else!
Finally, we tried the Dragonfly Badge Cupcake, which is also at Creature Comforts! This is a lemon cupcake with vanilla frosting and creamy lemon filling for $5.99. The dragonfly badge on top is made out of white chocolate!
The Dragonfly Cupcake is extremely lemony! It’s really good, it just has a very distinct lemon flavor, so make sure you like lemon before getting this treat!
It was borderline overwhelmingly lemony, so we could’ve used a bit more vanilla flavor from the frosting, but if you’re a big citrus person, you should love this!
Those are all of the new cupcakes we tried today in Animal Kingdom! Our favorite one was… *drumroll please* the Dinosaur Badge Cupcake! The description says the word chocolate 5 times, of course we had to pick that one!
But, truly, there wasn’t a bad cupcake in this group, they are each just distinctly directed at people who enjoy certain flavor profiles. Earn your badges by trying them out for yourselves, and stay tuned to DBF for more Disney food reviews!
