Although we saw a lot of crowds at Disney World throughout the summer, once August rolled around (and kids started going back to school), we’ve seen significantly lower crowds and wait times in the parks.
This week, crowds have been so low that it’s even been easier to grab a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (WELL after the time they first become available). But what are crowds like now on weekends? Well, we were at the parks today to find out!
Magic Kingdom
When we arrived at Magic Kingdom, we were surprised to see that the crowds were still low on a Saturday morning in Disney World’s most popular park.
And when we looked at ride wait times, we saw some of the lowest weekend times we’ve seen in a LONG time.
Splash Mountain only had a 5-minute wait time!
In fact, most rides only had 5 to 15 minute waits, including some popular attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain.
Even with a new stage taking up significant real estate around Cinderella Castle hub, the area was still fairly uncrowded for the popular photo spot.
Heading into Tomorrowland, you can see just how few crowds there were in the usually bustling area.
Wait times continued to remain low throughout the day. The wait for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was only about 40 minutes this afternoon!
EPCOT
Things were a little busier at EPCOT, but not by much! Festival weekends are usually WAY more crowded than this, and the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is still ongoing.
There was plenty of space for groups to separate and do their own thing.
We’re not used to seeing EPCOT with so few people on the weekends!
The longest wait time we saw here was this afternoon for Test Track — that was a 45 minute wait, while Frozen had a 40 minute wait. Other rides, though, were averaging around 5 to 15 minutes.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Things were quiet over at Animal Kingdom, too. The wait for Kilimanjaro Safaris was just 5 minutes in the morning.
Parts of the park were just downright peaceful — it’s almost like we had the park to ourselves!
Pandora was also pretty chill — and we’re used to seeing a lot of crowds in the newest land for the park.
This afternoon, the wait for Flight of Passage was only 44 minutes — ON A WEEKEND! 🤯 We’ll continue to monitor the crowd situation, so stay tuned for more!

There are no crowds because of Covid not kids going babck to school.
