Today Disney announced the return of annual passes, sharing that they’d once again be available to purchase on September 8th!
With this announcement, Disney also revamped the annual pass program, now offering four different pass options (some of which are exclusive to Florida Residents and DVC Members). We got more details on the passes, including pricing and perks, plus one important detail that you shouldn’t miss!
As part of the announcement of the new passes, Disney stated the following: “Please note as we continue to manage attendance to provide a great experience for everyone, at any time, Annual Passes may be unavailable for purchase.”
This basically means that we’re at risk of annual passes becoming unavailable at any point in the future. So, it sounds like if you’re interested in getting an annual pass soon, you’ll want to be on standby on September 8th when they go on sale, just in case. Disney didn’t specify what conditions would cause the passes to be unavailable, but we’ll keep you updated if or when they do.

Do we know what time they are going on sale?
Mr . JOHN says
The passes are only for Florida residence and D V C members . What does other people do can they buy or not .It doesn’t say out of state. I am not a pass holder but there is a lot of people that are in other states.

Wow,
I love WDW but once again they are Minnimizing things. Significant increase to renew but won’t have the photo pass unless you pay for it, no more magic band for AP holders (unless you pay for it) and they will limit the number of passes allowed. Corporate desire to recoup the losses as fast as possible is going to drive some of the die hard Disney fans away. I

Interesting! I didn’t take the note that passes might be unavailable as a warning of “selling out” .. I took it as them saying there is a possibility in the future they may have to stop sales again (for example of the parks were to have to shutdown again). I’m so glad I read this blog! Always helpful!!

I agree, Disney is very close to jumping the shark with the relentless price increases. Do DVC members get a discount on the Pixie and Waterpark passes…? Can you just get a waterpark pass by itself without an annual park pass?

Mr. John, the Incredi-Pass is for everyone!
DFB Sarah says
Grace, to my knowledge, Disney hasn’t specified. I think online will be 6AM (potentially earlier), and phone lines typically open at 7AM.

So what I’m not understanding is, if we are currently an active Annual Passholder and our passes don’t expire until next year do we have to do anything right now or can we wait to make our choice when these old AP expire? We maintained our passes all through the pandemic and never left the program. This part is kind of confusing.
DFB Sarah says
Penny, if you’ve got an active AP with an expiration date, you’ll wait to do anything until that Pass expires. So for now, it should be business as usual for you. When you renew next year, you’ll renew into a new Pass type, but you should be able to keep your current benefits (if you have PhotoPass, for example).

I have been on the phone with Disney twice and neither time was I able to get through to ticketing as they are too busy. They did advise me that the annual pass is not limited in number and that this is mis-information that is causing many to be calling the ticketing number. Please look into this and make a correction if it is found to be true.
