The Wave…of American Flavors at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is being reimagined into Steakhouse 71.
This new restaurant is opening on October 1st in Disney World, and we got a first look at the menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! In addition to the regular meals, Steakhouse 71 will have a lounge area with its own menu for small dishes and drinks. Let’s take a look at what’ll be offered there!
The Steakhouse 71 Lounge is available for you to visit before your reservations or anytime you’d like to stop by. It’ll have a “large rectangular bar” and a retro theme. The restaurant will have nods to ’70s design (since it’s named after Disney World’s opening in that decade), so we’re expecting more of that in the lounge area. There will be new drinks to try both in the Lounge and during your meal, including “alcoholic and nonalcoholic libations.”
As a nod to Florida flavors, there will be the Citrus Grove Cocktail, which is Italian bitter, green herbal liqueur, citrus juices, simple syrup, and orange bitters. Another signature drink will be the Steakhouse 71 Vodka Gimlet, which is vodka, green herbal liqueur, herbal blend, lime juice, simple syrup, and Minute Maid Premium Lemonade. It’s “inspired by the Florida wetlands” and will have a lily pad garnish “in honor of Lillian Disney.”
Another drink that gives a nod to the ’70s is the Tequila Sunrise. It’s got a modern twist as well, with tequila, tropical juices, rosemary simple syrup, and house-made grenadine. There will also be a selection of wines “with a personal connection to the Disney name.” For the small dishes, Disney has released the Lounge menu! You can get food like Crab Cakes, Macaroni and Cheese, Shrimp Cocktails, and more.
We’re very curious about those PB&J Chicken Wings!
