Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration is finally here, and with that comes the new Magic Kingdom fireworks show, Disney Enchantment.

Along with the debut of the new Harmonious fireworks show in EPCOT, Disney Enchantment features projections on Cinderella Castle and all the way down Main Street, U.S.A., lighting effects, fireworks, and of course, Disney music. There are now three new dessert fireworks parties in Magic Kingdom that allow guests priority firework viewing spots and desserts and drinks for an additional cost. Today we’re giving you a full review of the Disney Enchantment After Party!

So we JUST shared with you our look at the Treats and Seats Enchantment Dessert Party (AKA the priciest option at $114 per adult) and now we’re back reviewing one of the (slightly) cheaper options: the Disney Enchantment After Party. This party costs $99 per adult and $59 for children ages 3 and up, on top of park admission. Unlike the Treats and Eats option where you have food before and during your seated view of the fireworks from Tomorrowland Terrace, this after party STARTS with a reserved viewing area for fireworks and ends with the treats!

Atmosphere

On the evening when fireworks parties returned, Disney Enchantment was scheduled to perform at 9PM, so our reservation said to check in at 8PM. We were directed to the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant.

Here, there was a specific podium set up for guests of the After Party, and we gave our names to the Cast Members stationed there. Once checked in, they give you a colored wristband.

This wristband grants access to the fireworks viewing area and the dessert party afterward. The colors change each evening and are different depending on which of the three party options you’re attending. Guests who are 21+ and wish to drink alcohol will get a second wristband noting they’re old enough to imbibe.

After you check-in, you’re free to roam until it’s time to watch the fireworks. Once we were ready to claim our spot in the viewing area, we headed to the Plaza Garden, directly in front of the Plaza Restaurant. The whole section was roped off with a reserved sign, but we simply needed to show our wristband to the Cast Member to get inside!

There is plenty of space in here to stand during the fireworks, and if you do the After Party, you’ll be able to stake out your spot before the guests from the Pre-Party arrive (the third firework option where you eat your treats before the show).

We chose a spot toward the front (that’s prime real estate, baby!) and sat down to wait until the show started. Once the fireworks begin, guests are required to stand up.

What a show! The view from our spot was spectacular, and the projections were clearly visible.

After the show, we gathered with a Cast Member, who herded all the After Party guests back to the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant.

Once we arrived, we were seated individually and given a reserved sign for our table. Then, you’re free to get up and peruse the buffet!

Let’s eat some desserts!

Dessert and Drinks

This event is all you care to eat, with a wide variety of beverages and food options. For cold drinks, they’ve got iced tea, milk, and POG juice (passion fruit, orange, and guava juices mixed together)…

…as well as lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and water with lemon. They’ve got a little of something for everyone!

You simply pick your glass up from the table and refill it as needed throughout the party.

For hot beverages, they had a hot water dispenser for tea, as well as regular and decaf coffee. (It’s up to you if you want to be that brave and indulge in caffeine after 10PM. 😅)

If you’d like, you can make a cup of hot tea. They also have several additions for your beverages, including cream and sugar.

They also had a table with flutes filled with sparkling apple cider!

And there were a variety of drink choices available for the over-21 crowd as well. You’ll need one of the adult wristbands to order from this bar. They offered a couple types of beer, a red and white wine, and two sparkling wines.

Now, let’s discuss the FOOD! Was it a little odd having two reporters review the same food on the same night from the same buffet line for two similar but different parties? Maybe a little, but that just means more pics of food for you to enjoy, right?! There was a seriously impressive display on the buffet, with a bunch of different desserts to choose from.

First up was the only savory option — cheese and assorted crackers. The cheese cubes were mostly cheddar, and it was definitely nice to add something that wasn’t sweet into the mix!

Many of the desserts were smaller replicas of 50th Anniversary offerings at the various restaurants around Magic Kingdom. The Chilling Chamber Pop is themed to the stretching room of Haunted Mansion and it’s filled with fake quicksand as a nod to one of the portraits! (Note many of these foods have placards explaining the locations in the park they can be found at, but in reality, only a few are actually on the current menus!) They also served a classic Chocolate-Covered Strawberry emblazoned with the 50th Anniversary logo. 

The Chocolate Silk Pie is a miniature version of the pie that’s available for the 50th Anniversary at Casey’s Corner. They come with a chocolate tart shell, chocolate filling, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings! You can also pick up the Oreo Cheesecake Mousse in mini cups, which is made to mimic the Sword in the Sweet that’s currently on the kids’ menu at Cinderella’s Royal Table.

The Devil’s Chocolate Pudding claims to be the same as what can be found at The Friar’s Nook (it’s not), and the Tres Leche Cupcake is available at Pinocchio Village Haus (it’s also not!). It’s like you’re getting to taste your way around Magic Kingdom but…not at the same time! 🤣

Butterscotch Pudding with Caramel Popcorn comes in a little cup here, but you can currently get a larger version at Crystal Palace. And the Firehouse Doughnuts can be found during the day at Tony’s Town Square. They even come with the strawberry sauce!

We, of course, loaded up our plate with a little bit of everything before heading back to the table. Let’s dig in!

As far as the trio of dessert cups went, we had some really delicious options. The Butterscotch Pudding was our least favorite of the three, simply because it was overly sweet and the popcorn got a little stale (umm…squishy) from sitting in the pudding. The Devil’s Chocolate Pudding had a less sugary and more cocoa-forward flavor (which was especially refreshing when you’re eating so much sugar!). But our favorite was the Oreo Cheesecake Mousse. It had a mildly sweet cheesecake flavor and we enjoyed the variety of textures in the toppings — we could’ve eaten three or four of these!

Like we noted earlier, the cheese was a nice addition to the plate because it added a savory element. Honestly, we would’ve loved more savory options to counterbalance the sugar. We felt like we were bouncing off the walls by the end of the night!

The cupcake and the doughnut were both in the realm of “average” as far as we were concerned. The doughnut was a little dry, but the outer shell had a little crunch thanks to the sugar, which was unique. The cupcake was anything but dry (thanks to the tres leches!) but the frosting had an unexpected tangy flavor that didn’t really fit with the cake. The chocolate tart was nice, but the shell that it came in was on the dry side — the flavor was pretty basic milk chocolate with whipped cream on top.

Want something to post on your Insta feed? Well, these chocolate-covered strawberries are just the thing! They were covered in the 50th Anniversary logo and the berry itself was tangy, which balanced perfectly with the chocolate. 

And one of our favorites of the evening was the Chilling Chamber Pop! This mini push pop (and we DO mean mini!) was filled with vanilla crumbs, caramel buttercream, and graham cracker crumbs and it was light, buttery, and just sweet enough to not be too much. Plus, it’s fun to eat. You can’t beat that!

And really, is there a better way to spend your night than with fireworks and eating your weight in desserts?

Nosh or Not?

Put yourself in a sugar coma after the fireworks if…

• You’re looking for a fun way to end the night. You’ll get a fantastic view of the fireworks and you’ll be able to enjoy an endless supply of desserts and treats, plus beverages. It’s a multi-hour experience and an exciting, yet surprisingly relaxing, way to end your day in the park.
• You don’t want to wait hours for fireworks. If you want prime real estate in a fireworks spot, you may have to stake out your spot hours in advance, especially on a busy night. With this party, you can walk up right before the show and find a great viewing location in a reserved area that’s not too crowded.
• You’re a big desserts person. Do we really need to explain? 😉 It’s a buffet of a bunch of different sweet treats, so if you’re a chocolate lover or dessert is your favorite part of a meal, then this is MADE for you.

Save $100 and pass on the party if…

• You’re not a night owl. This party begins AFTER the fireworks and, on a night when the show premiered at 9PM, we stayed at the party until about 10:30PM. This may not be the best choice for kiddos who have a bedtime, especially because you’ll be filling them up with sugar.
• You’re on a tight budget. This party is $99 per adult and $59 per child, so it’s not the most budget-friendly if you have multiple people in your group. Instead, pick up a few snacks from around the park and enjoy them while you stake out a fireworks spot ahead of time!
• You don’t have a sweet tooth. Like we mentioned above, there aren’t many savory options at this party. Many of the desserts are sugary or have chocolate, so if that’s not your jam, spend the money on a different “fancy” dining experience instead where you can get food that you love! (The fireworks party at Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers regular food in addition to the desserts.)

Overall

All in all, we had an absolutely fantastic time at this Disney Enchantment After Party! About $100 per person is pretty pricey, but when you consider the convenience of an amazing fireworks view and unlimited treats, plus the value of alcohol (if you drink), you might be able to get your money’s worth out of it. It would likely be a great purchase for a special occasion — we saw several people celebrating anniversaries and birthdays!

The After Party is cheaper than the Disney Enchantment Treats & Seats option and, from the spot we chose, offered a better view of the fireworks. However, you do have to stand up during the show (you can sit and wait before it starts). It’s the same price as the Pre-Party, but you might want to pick this one instead if you want a less crowded event or if you want the best fireworks viewing in the reserved section. The PRE-party might be best for those with younger ones looking to see the fireworks show and then hightail it out of the park to go to bed! With the After Party, you can arrive in the hour before the fireworks and head to your location while the Pre-Party guests are still dining. 

The dessert options covered a variety of flavors and sweetness levels, which is perfect for guests with different preferences. We really loved the idea of sampling 50th Anniversary snacks from around the park — it’s a one-stop-shop (even if many aren’t currently available around the park. Which is kind of weird.)! And the Cast Members who were working the dessert parties on the night of our visit were truly phenomenal. They were especially accommodating and kind, spending time with the guests and asking our thoughts on the food options and the fireworks show…they are what makes it a truly special experience!

So, depending on what you’re looking for, the Disney Enchantment After Party might be a worthy extra cost to consider. Is it the BEST of the three options? Depends on you! Personally, if we’re shelling out $100 bucks per adult, we just assume spend a few bucks more for the Treats and Seats party so we could have a real table and chair to sit in while we snack. That said, the view WAS notable better down in the hub in the reserved viewing. So the choice is really yours! If you’re spending that much for some treats and reserved viewing, do you want the best possible view (if so, go with this party or the pre-party!) or are you looking for a more relaxed, leisurely night.
