In just a few days, not one, but TWO brand new fireworks shows will debut in Disney World — Harmonious at EPCOT and Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom.
So far, we’ve gotten a peek at the music that’ll be used in these shows, information about showtimes, and details about how you can watch these shows at home. But, now we’ve got even more details to share with you about Harmonious and just what to expect from this new nighttime spectacular!
Recently, Disney released a press release all about Harmonious. Harmonious is currently set to debut officially on October 1st, but you can watch it early from the comfort of your couch!
According to Disney, Harmonious will shine a light on 15 specific Disney songs. But, you won’t just hear these songs in the way you’re used to listening to them. Instead, the songs have all been “reimagined by a culturally diverse ensemble of 240 artists from around the globe, including musicians, composers, arrangers, vocalists and more. In total, the music was performed and recorded through more than 110 sessions in nine different countries.”
The reinterpretations of these songs have been “inspired and influenced by cultures and people from around the world.”
According to Steven Davison, executive creative director, Disney Live Entertainment, “The driving force of ‘Harmonious’ is the music, featuring voices of the world coming together to share in timeless Disney songs.”
Just what song will Harmonious open with? Well it’ll actually be a medley of two songs — “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and “Go the Distance” from Hercules. And to make it even better, this medley is performed by “American Idol” finalist and three-time GRAMMY® nominee Danny Gokey, as well as vocalists Elisha Garrett and Ninet Tayeb.
Love The Lion King? You’ll hear music from that film as well as the The Ndlovu Youth Choir from Johannesburg sings a medley of favorite songs from the film in both English and Zulu.
During Harmonious, fans will also get to hear:
- “Dig a Little Deeper” from The Princess and the Frog, featuring vocalist Bryson Camper and =gospel artists Karen Clark Sheard and Kierra Sheard.
- “Out There” from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, performed by French pop singer Damien Sargue
- Songs from Coco, which will “get a rousing pan-Latin sendup from award-winning Puerto Rican artist Luis Fonsi…and award-winning Mexican singer/songwriter Joy.”
- A Celtic take on songs from Brave, from “GRAMMY®- and Emmy®-nominated violinist Máiréad Nesbitt and platinum-selling electronic artist, violinist and multi-talented entertainer Lindsey Stirling.”
- Songs from Mulan, The Jungle Book and Aladdin, which will be “highlighted by the vocal talents of Wang Liuqi, Hollie Hammel, Aditya Rao, Gaayatri Kaundinya, Jorgie Shkara and Sanaa Marahati.”
We had heard about most of these songs before, but it’s interesting to hear a bit more about them and about where some will be featured in the show.
The show’s hopeful message is ultimately about the “magic that happens when people join together.” Near the end of the show, you’ll get to hear the song “Someday” (from The Hunchback of Notre Dame) “combined with the new EPCOT theme from composer Pinar Toprak.” Disney notes that this combination is meant to “unite the people of the world in hope and promise found throughout the park every day.”
Overall, Harmonious will feature 15 songs, 13 different languages, and will last 20 minutes long.
The floating barges are positioned like a compass on World Showcase Lagoon. The show media will end up being “displayed on four double-sided LED panels standing 25 feet high and 88 feet long.” There will also be a central water curtain featuring more projections that will be 5 stories high!
And the choreographed moving arms on the barges? Those are just a cool 54 feet long! There are also hundreds of programmable moving fountains, as well as lights, lasers, and pyrotechnic effects all of which go into making this show a reality.
We cannot wait to see Harmonious in action once it debuts in EPCOT. Be sure to check back with us for more updates on this new show!

Ken says
I was just there at Epcot’s World Showcase Lagoon and I was absolutely blown away at how terrible the view is.
Most pictures I have seen on line focus on the structure in the lagoon. The real picture, from the guest view walling down the pathway is , to say the very best terrible. I was dismayed at every viewing point at how bad this “Harmonious” structure really impacted the look of Epcot in negative way. Very upsetting looking across the lagoon from one country to another…the view is “Horrendous”. After 8-7-6pm it won’t matter, but during the day, the view is spoiled.
