Happy Holidays, DFB Readers!
We’ve been enjoying seeing all the holiday decorations at Disney World, along with munching on some holiday snacks, checking out some holiday merchandise, and living our best holiday life at Disney World. And now, we’re at the very first Disney Very Merriest After Hours Party!
The Very Merriest After Hours Party is an after-hours ticketed event being offered on select nights starting tonight and running through December 21, 2021. The party offers lots of exclusive holiday fun and entertainment, along with some special treats, fireworks, a stage show, and a parade.
But what were crowds like tonight at the first party? Are the crowds small enough to make this event worth it? Or was it so busy that we still had to wait in long lines to ride attractions? Here’s what we saw.
Entering the sold-out event, there were some pretty big crowds waiting to get in!
For all the folks who got to the event close to its start, they got to enjoy a special showing of Disney Enchantment, Magic Kingdom’s latest fireworks show that debuted to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Disney World! The crowds were similar to your usual showing of Disney Enchantment, with lots of people congregating on Main Street, U.S.A.
If you’re looking for those exclusive Very Merriest treats, expect some lines! I might take a little bit to get your snacks, so be sure to be prepared for that.
On the entertainment side of things, some sizeable crowds formed for the debut of the new show, Mickey &Â Minnie’s Very Merry Memories!
Similarly, people gathered for Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, the exclusive after-hours parade celebrating the holidays! Much like the parades of ye olden times, you may want to find a good spot well ahead of time to get a good view of the parade.
The crowds for the parade stretched all the way down Main Street, with people surrounding the whole parade route as “snoap” (that’s fake snow made out of soap) fell over the front of the park.
Crowds on Main Street started to die down as the night went on.
As always, keep following us for more details about the Very Merriest After Hours Party because we’ll be covering ALL of it, as well as EVERYTHING else about the holiday season at Disney World.

Leslie Gagnon says
You said NOTHING about wait times for the rides…
Don says
Wasn’t the Disney Christmas Event $189 plus tax, or around $220 for one ticket? What?!?
Much more expensive than in the past! We went in November 2019 and it was that much for two tickets! Really? Disney?
DFB Sarah says
Leslie, we did watch wait times during the event, and 25 minutes was the longest wait we saw posted.
Bill says
I just got back from Disney World. I was there the first week of November. I don’t know when I have seen it so crowded, and I have been there close to 100 times and maybe more. Wait times were very long at the parks except maybe Epcot. The genie system Is much more troublesome than the old fast pass system. You have to schedule your day around the available time windows for available attractions. I was not pleased and feel like I wasted my money on my tickets and on my whole vacation. If they are going to maximize the size of crowds like they did while I was there, I would prefer to go somewhere else.
