Blue shrimp, lightsaber training, and character interactions — Disney World’s new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (a.k.a. Star Wars hotel) will have ALL of that and more!
One of the parts of the hotel that we’ve also been getting some information on (and seeing images for) are those hotel rooms. And today we’re debunking some myths (like how small the beds are) and giving more details on the rooms at this pricey new hotel experience.Β
The “Tiny” Bunkbeds
Earlier this year we got a look inside the Star Wars hotel rooms, including a peek at what looked like some TINY bunk beds and windows out to space! Well, it turns out those tiny bunk beds might not be all THAT small. Based on some recent reports shared by IGN, the twin-size bunks easily fit a rather tall individual perfectly fine (even on the top bunk!) and SyFy likened the compact beds to “snoozing in the space version of a tour bus.βΒ We can’t wait to give these a try when we get the chance to experience the Star Wars hotel for ourselves!
Room Sizing
Wondering how you get to your room? Well, according to Nerdist, “aΒ stroll down a corridor leads to guest cabins (the ship has three decks of cabins and two decks of central gathering spaces).”
When it comes to the rooms, you are intended to be staying on a “luxury starcruiser,” but luxury in space has a different feel than when you’re on earth. From what we understand, the rooms feel like what it would be like to be on a cruise ship. In fact, IGN referred to the rooms as very cruise ship-like, describing them asΒ βtight andΒ compact, with little in the way of free space.βΒ Β That seems to fit in with the overall experience well, however, as the entire Galactic Starcruiser is designed more as an all-inclusive cruise-type experience.
Bloomberg shares that, guests will find aΒ mix of capsule-like bunks, pull-down adult beds and standard queen-sized beds.” But that “despite two classes of suites, you wonβt find a king-sized mattress anywhere onboard.”
Space Windows
In terms of the windows to space, they are very much like the ones that you can currently find at EPCOT’s Space 220.Β You might observe a spaceship or even a planet passing by, and the screen images depend on where the βshipβ is in space at any given time. IGN shared thatΒ you can switch off this window feature for bedtime,Β so no worries if you need complete darkness for sleep.
Restrooms
And when it comes to the bathrooms, Nerdist has shared that “the cabins sleep up to five and have a bathroom that is not split, so the toilet and the shower are in the same space.” Overall, the bunk beds are bigger than expected but the rooms and accommodations are quite tight. Really think cruise ship rooms here instead of a spacious Disney World suite.
Number of Guests/Rooms
In terms of the number of rooms and guests you’ll find on the ship, StarWars.com notes that there will be 100 passenger cabins. In another post, they share that there will be “betweenΒ 100-500 passengers onboard, the immersion calls for contained chaos and a sense of community as individuals live out their own stories making decisions that impact the experience as a whole.”
We’ll be on the lookout for more updates about the Star Wars hotel, so stay tuned for more news!

Interesting⦠wildly expensive, but interesting.

While the experience is likely very cool, I would want a more spacious room and bathroom and king size bed for the amount of money Disney is charging. You could rent most of the largest rooms on Disney property for far less than this experience will cost. Kudos though to the Imagineers on what appears to be a very immersive experience.

All this could be yours for a mere $5000. I know there are some out there who could pay that with no strain on their budget, but Iβd hazard a guess it wouldnβt be most of the average public. $5000 could buy a fine cruise for the family or an island vacation, both of which would be longer than two nights.
