Today a lineup of D23 events for 2022 were announced, and y’all — 2022 is going to be awesome for D23 Members!
2022 D23 Expo
The 2022 D23 Expo dates were announced for September 9th, 10th, and 11th in 2022, along with some of the event details, including content from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel, as well as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. There will also be live-streamed panels and presentations!

Tickets will go on sale January 20th.
Walt’s Marceline
Marceline, a small town in Missouri where Walt Disney spent some of his early childhood, is where he got much of his inspiration for Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A..

At this special limited-capacity event, D23 Members will be able to spend a full day exploring Marceline’s Walt Disney Hometown Museum, along with local treats and special guests.
Dave Smith Window Dedication
Dave Smith, the founder of The Walt Disney Archives and a Disney Legend, will receive a Disneyland window dedication on January 24th. D23 Gold Members can experience a special presentation during park hours!

Bedknobs and Broomsticks Diamond Anniversary
The 50th anniversary of Bedknobs and Broomsticks takes place on January 29th, and D23 will celebrate with special screenings at the same place the film was made — The Walt Disney Studios lot!

There will also be opportunities to see items from the Walt Disney Archives on display!
Galactic Member Mixer
At the Anaheim Convention Center, D23 will host a special Member Mixer for the Star Wars Celebration in May.

We don’t know what this Member Mixer will look like yet but we’ll be watching for more details!
The Walt Disney Studios Official Tour — Presented by D23
D23 Members will have the opportunity to tour The Walt Disney Studios lot, which features pieces of Disney history from films, television shows, and the theme parks, as well as a peek inside The Walt Disney Archives and Walt’s office suite.

The Walt Disney Studios lot is located in Burbank in California, and we’re excited to see this tour return!

Fan-Favorite Milestone Anniversaries
2022 is a year of anniversaries for many Disney films! There will be several celebrations of these anniversaries with both virtual AND in-person D23 events.

Some of these milestones include the 20th anniversary of Lilo & Stitch, the 25th for Hercules, and the 30th anniversary for Aladdin and The Muppet Christmas Carol.
D23 Nights with Disney Theatrical
There will be two musical production events with the North American tours of Disney’s The Lion King and Frozen, and D23 Members can purchase special ticket packages and even experience post-show Q&As with Cast Members from the shows.

These musical events will take place first for The Lion King in Austin and St. Louis, and in Atlanta and Orlando for Frozen.
More Magic with Walt Disney Imagineering
The D23 x Walt Disney Imagineering Magical Milestones, a virtual event series, celebrates both the past and future of Disney Parks around the world. There will be a special event for the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris in 2022!

In 2021, this event celebrated Disney World, Disney California Adventure, and Shanghai Disney Resort.
Signature Events
2022 will bring Gold Member Previews of traveling Walt Disney Archive exhibitions around the country! D23 Gold Members can also purchase advance and opening night screenings at theaters including El Capitan, AMC Disney Springs, and more. And the exclusive Walt Disney Imagineering store, Mickey’s of Glendale, will allow D23 Members to shop!

There will also be a Halloween event featuring Hocus Pocus elements, as well as Light Up the Season for the Season of Magic in December of 2022.

CC, so far we’re only hearing about the current transformation going on in EPCOT, many components of which are likely to open in 2022. Perhaps some will be held for the 40th on October 1, but we’ll have to wait for announcements from Disney.
OK thank you! I thought it was interesting they are talking about Paris anniversary but I don’t hear much about Epcot’s anniversary. I’m starting to wonder if they’ll acknowledge it at all. Maybe it will all be last minute…
CC, it may be a little lost in the 50th anniversary celebration, which will continue through April 2023.
