If your idea of a great day begins with a couple laps around Disney World, then we’ve got some great news for you!
In-person runDisney events returned to Disney World earlier this year with the 2021 Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend and we’ve got THREE more race weekends coming up in the next four months, including one that is BRAND NEW! And, if you’re ready to see what the new race(s) are all about, then it’s time to reserve your spot!
As a quick refresher, runDisney announced back in 2020 that it would be the last year that they would hold the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend and that they would be replacing it with a NEW race weekend — the Springtime Surprise! And, registration is now OPEN for Club runDisney Gold & Platinum members!
The race weekend will take place March 31st through April 3rd, 2022, and will include three different distances that all pay tribute to former runDisney events. First up is the Expedition Everest 5K, which not only takes runners on a 3.1 mile loop through Disney’s Animal Kingdom on the evening of March 31st, but it also features a scavenger hunt in the park!
Prefer to run a little further? Well, there’s also the Race for the Taste 10K taking place on April 2nd!
And, the longest distance offered will be the Tower of Terror 10 Miler on April 3rd. Yes, this fan-favorite race is back again after an 8-year hiatus but it will be a little different from what you might remember as it will take place in the morning rather than the evening.
You can also sign up for the Challenge, which includes registration to all three races for a total of 19.3 miles in one weekend.
Registration currently costs $100 for the Expedition Everest 5K, $135 for the Race for the Taste 10K, $190 for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler, and $445 for the Challenge. Just keep in mind that prices on all of these races will increase for those who register after March 1st, 2022.
General registration for the runDisney races in addition to the Springtime Surprise Sunrise Yoga event will open in a few days on December 9th at 2PM ET and those who would like to run the races virtually can register beginning December 14th at 10AM ET.
We’ll keep an eye out for more runDisney updates, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
