Ever since Disney Genie+ premiered in Disney World back in October, we’ve seen quite a few changes.
For those who aren’t tech-savvy, it may be a difficult system to learn, with all the rules and different times throughout the morning that attractions become available to book. But today, we got yet another change — a new (and unexpected!) offering on Genie+!
This morning, we purchased Genie+ to see how things go during what is arguably the busiest week of the year at Disney World. When we went in to make our selections, we noticed something new — Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is available as a Genie+ selection!
This parade has been running throughout the season at Disney Very Merriest After Hours, but that event had its last party yesterday. For the next few days, the parade will run during the daytime for Christmas break guests to enjoy. And if you’re hoping to watch, you can book it through Genie+ to access a reserved viewing area!
For the 12:00PM showing of the parade, you can get a Genie+ reservation from 11:45AM-12:15PM. After it’s booked, you’ll return to the Castle courtyard during that time window and find a parade-viewing Cast Member. The entrance to the reserved parade viewing will be on the east side of the castle area.
If you book this Genie+ selection, we recommend arriving at the beginning of that window. While it does take a few minutes for the parade to reach the castle, arriving at 12:15PM would be cutting it pretty close.
This leaves us wondering if Disney may make use of this feature in the future when the Festival of Fantasy Parade returns in 2022. We’ll have to wait and see!
Stay tuned to DFB for more news from Walt Disney World, especially during this busy holiday week!
