Now that the Christmas holiday has passed, it’s time to take a look at what’s new at Magic Kingdom ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebrations!
You might not be surprised to learn that there were a LOT of big crowds in the park during our recent visits, plus some fun and limited-time holiday additions. Let’s take a look at what we’ve experienced in Magic Kingdom recently!
Magic Kingdom Construction & Entertainment Updates
Limited-Time Exclusive Offerings
In addition to daytime Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade showings, the brand new holiday stage show — Mickey & Minnie’s Very Merry Memories — had showings during regular daytime hours at Magic Kingdom during our recent visits! Previously, this show was only available for guests at Mickey’s Very Merriest After Hours.
This holiday stage show features appearances by the Fab Five, the Three Caballeros, Clarabelle, and more.

Club Tinsel, a Tomorrowland dance party was also available during the day from 5:30PM to 9:30PM. This is another holiday entertainment offering that previously was only available during Very Merriest After Hours.
And the Reindeer Wranglers could be found performing in Frontierland!
A Cast Member even indicated that the holiday overlay for Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor was available for daytime guests. Again, all of these were previously only available during Very Merriest After Hours. If you didn’t shell out the big bucks to attend the event, you could still experience some of these special offerings for a very limited time.

Holiday Fun
During our time in the park, we also got to wave to our friends from the Hundred Acre Wood in their holiday outfits, like Winnie the Pooh…
…and Tigger!
It’s great to see these characters in their holiday looks.
TRON Attraction
The TRON Lightcycle Run construction continues to progress! We don’t have any updates yet about an exact opening date but we’re watching closely for more news.
Although TRON was initially scheduled to open on October 1st, 2021, along with Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, its opening has been delayed while construction continues.

Magic Kingdom Crowd Updates
Crowds at the Transportation and Ticket Center were intense! Once the crowds started moving it wasn’t TOO bad, but keep in mind that you will likely encounter crowds if you visit Disney World during the holidays.
Once inside Magic Kingdom, there were some areas where Cast Members had put down directional arrows on walkways to help with crowd flow and keep guests moving in separate lanes.
Crowds were really large in some areas and less so in other areas. In some spots there were some opportunities to take a breather and step away from it all. It just depended on where you were at any given moment.
And that’s all the news from Magic Kingdom for now! Keep reading DFB for more Magic Kingdom and Disney World updates.
