If there packing that many people in the Park’s, what is the purpose of the Park Reservation ?
Ronjon says
You can blame Genie+ for the longer lines. Guest/Visitors s don’t want to pay for or can’t afford Genie+ have to wait in the stand-by lines since there is no longer the free FastPass+ option.
So with the pay to play Genie+ being the only choice to skip the longer lines, most people are choosing the stand-by lines due to cost creating longer lines with longer wait times.
So explain to me how is this making things better and enjoyable for paying guest?

RE: Mike,
That is what I have been saying the last several months. Both Disney World and Disneyland are operating at full capacity (no Covid limits), so there is no longer a need for reservations. In all my years going to the parks, only one time did they sellout, close the gates and turn guest away who showed up late on during the day3.
This is the lawsuit issue with the Magic passes over at Disneyland. They have block out days, but also days when you can’t reserve a day and go because it is supposedly booked up on a day that is not blackout day. Funny thing is that if you buy a regular ticket, those same non-blackout days are available to reserve.
They need to get rid of the reservations and go back to the first come first serve way it use to be (and bring back the free FastPass). Again, I don’t think the parks will ever reach the maximum capacity on any given day, so it is not likely they will have to turn away guest. And if they do, it will only be the guest who should up late.

Ronjon you are correct! It’s because they dump out every last person from the lighting lane before they let anyone else go. Just think how much faster the lines would go if they didn’t treat non lighting lane people like second class citizens. This proves that Disney only cares about money, and not the costumers. I don’t think this is what Walt had in mind when he wanted a place where everyone could have fun, and not just the ones who pay more. Just my opinion…
