Guests were up bright and early today in Disney World — and some were even dressed up for a special occasion! It’s not Halloween, the holidays are over, so what’s so special about this weekend?
Good morning from Disney World!
It’s a runDisney marathon weekend! The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is running (get it?) from January 5th-January 9th, and we were in the parks this morning cheering on the runners! Come along with us as we check out the first Disney marathon of 2022!
The marathon goes all through the Disney parks, so be on the lookout for signs and special crosswalks during your visit!
It’s marathon time!
Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we saw the Citizens of Hollywood cheering guests on as they ran down Sunset Boulevard. (side note: those polka-dot pants are ICONIC!)

Runners went right through Hollywood Studios and past the Skyliner Station! We spy a Goofy-inspired outfit; do you see it?

The runners also made their way through Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You can see them here in Dinoland! We LOVE those Tinker Bell and Peter Pan outfits!

During our visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we met some friendly runners who completed the event! Those 50th Anniversary medals are amazing — congratulations to ALL the runners this weekend!
