Our reporters visit Disney World every day, so they’re always keeping an eye on the latest news in and around the parks.
This morning (January 18th) on their way into the parks, our reporters noticed some heavy traffic and back-ups along the route to Disney World. The traffic turned out to be due to a serious crash involving a bus and another vehicle.
We first noticed the traffic on I-4, although the crash took place on SR-417, which intersects the interstate.
ClickOrlando has reported that it was a fatal crash involving a bus and another vehicle. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, and three other people were taken to the hospital.
Update: Fox 35 Orlando reported that the other vehicle was an SUV that had become disabled. The man was pushing it off the road when the bus struck him and the car. A woman and two children were transferred to the hospital, and both are now in stable condition.
Trooper Steve from ClickOrlando reached out to thank the emergency responders who were working at the scene.
Fire Fighters are actively trying to remove a passenger from this truck. Thank you to our first responders for EVERYTHING you do…

The crash happened at about 5:50AM at southbound State Road 417 near mile marker 6. At this time, SR 417 is closed from John Young Parkway, and vehicles are being directed to exit here. Osceola Parkway is available as an alternate route, according to ClickOrlando.
WESH reported that there were no passengers on board the bus. The situation is still developing, and we will continue to update this post with further news.
