Do you consider yourself an expert of all things Disney’s Animal Kingdom?
One of the best parts of Animal Kingdom is seeing the animals, of course, but we also love learning new facts about them. And recently, we learned a cool new animal fact about what they eat!
Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment, shared an awesome animal fact with us via his Instagram, and we can’t stop thinking about it! The animals in Animal Kingdom eat food grown in EPCOT, just like we do!
According to Mark, some of our animal friends are given fresh produce to snack on from a very special place you might have heard of — Living with the Land! That’s right, the adored EPCOT boat ride that teaches you all about agriculture.
As some of you may know, Living with the Land, located in EPCOT’s The Land pavilion, grows food that guests can enjoy in restaurants such as the Garden Grill, which is also a character dining location. You can meet Mickey in his farmer overalls and eat fresh food!
Now, thanks to that fun fact from Dr. Penning, next time you enjoy your meal at Garden Grill, just think — some adorable animals could be snacking on the same food you are! Now if only they could join us at Garden Grill. Keep reading DFB for more Disney facts.
