Guess who’s back?
Disney World rides shut down for maintenance all the time, and while we hate to see them go, sometimes these rides need a bit of upkeep to make sure they’re in perfect condition. Plus, we get to celebrate when they come back. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad fans rejoice; the iconic attraction is back!
Big Thunder Mountain closed on February 14th for routine maintenance, and it has finally reopened! At around 11AM, the wait time was already up to 70 minutes. Some things never change!
There were a TON of people over by the attraction — just look at that crowd!
The standby wait time tends to fluctuate throughout the day, so keep checking the My Disney Experience app!
It was only closed for a few days, but this attraction is a Frontierland staple — Magic Kingdom isn’t the same without it! While the ride was down, Cast Members had little games set up. We love the idea, but you really can’t compare the wildest ride in the wilderness to a game of ring toss. Thank goodness the attraction is back in business!
There are still some other rides currently closed for maintenance, so stay tuned to DFB for updates on all closures!
