Are there Mickey ice cream bars in space? Do Jedi in training get to snack between lessons? What if I just want to spend my time in space eating as many treats as humanly possible — what is there to munch on? You’ve got space food questions, we’ve got ANSWERS!

The newest immersive & interactive experience — Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (a.k.a. the Star Wars Hotel) — is about to open at Disney World. We got a special look at this entire experience thanks to a media sailing we were invited to and we’ve been sharing ALL the information you need to know. From full reviews of lunch, dinner, and breakfast, to details about the rooms and more — we’ve got you covered. Right now we’re tackling something VERY important when it comes to this space trip — snacks!

Star Wars Hotel Basics

Before we get into our review of these snack items, let’s go over some Star Wars Hotel basics. While we call it a “hotel,” the Galactic Starcruiser is more of a cruise-type experience. It is an all-inclusive, immersive, and interactive 2-night experience that lets you live out the Star Wars story of your dreams.

After checking in to the Star Wars hotel, you’ll get the chance to train with a lightsaber, operate the ship’s defense system, talk to characters from the Star Wars universe, and make decisions that’ll affect the rest of your experience on the ship.

There’s also an excursion to Batuu and (of course) lots of dining to enjoy. All of your meals are included in the cost of the trip (which isn’t cheap to be fair). Note, though, that there are certain things you’ll need to pay extra for (like the Captain’s Table experience and some other items). Each day you’ll get breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. We’ve got full reviews of each that we’ll be sharing with you.

But what if you get hungry between meals? Even a Resistance fighter, scoundrel, or First Order sympathizer has to snack right? RIGHT! Getting hangry in space is still a thing so to cure that there are a variety of snacks available (and fully included in the cost of your stay) throughout your trip. Let’s take a look at them here!

Drinks

Did you even go on the Starcruiser if you didn’t drink your weight in blue and green milk? Okay, maybe you don’t want to drink your weight in those items, but you CAN get an essentially endless supply of both blue and green milk during your stay. The milk is available as self-serve during breakfast and lunch times, but even if you want it later on in the day, just ask a Cast Member and they’ll grab you some.

While the flavor of these milks is basically the same as what you’ll find on Batuu, we did find that they weren’t quite as cold up in space. Hmmm…maybe it’s a gravity thing? On the Star Wars Hotel, the blue and green milks had more of a milk consistency, rather than that more frozen/icee-type texture in Galaxy’s Edge.

In terms of other drinks, we also had a non-alcoholic Pomegranate Lemonade in the Atrium on the first evening of our trip as part of the Captain’s toast. We didn’t see this available as a complimentary during the rest of our visit, so it may be a special treat just for that event.

Snacks

In addition to the drinks, there are also some all-day snacks available. These are located at a stand near the central atrium space, and we saw them out from early afternoon until around dinner time. These snacks are mostly individually packaged and available for you to just easily grab and take with you on your adventure. On Day 1, you could get whole fruit, like mandarin oranges and bananas.

There were also raspberry rice krispies, which tasted like normal rice krispies with an artificial fruit flavoring.

These were pretty good, but not mind-blowing.

For a savory option, you could opt for the Parmesan Cheese Crisps.

Or you can go for the treats like these Gormaandas Cake Bites, which are essentially cake pops! Note that on a return trip these were called “Galaxy Cake Bars.”

Who knew that trend made it all the way to space?

One of our favorite things here was the double chocolate cookie.

This is one of the only must-try snacks in our opinion, since most of the other snacks were just OK.

You could also get a takeaway container of Crispy Cornbread Sticks…

…or serve yourself some chocolate candy or trail mix.

On Day 2, the snack stand looked a little bit different. The whole fruit options and raspberry rice krispies were the same, but there were some new options available.

First up, there was trail mix and goldfish crackers available in a large dispenser where you can serve yourself.

Some dried fruit was also available in little grab-and-go containers.

There was also some cheesy popcorn available. It appears the divisive Kat Saka’s Kettle Mix didn’t quite make it onto the snack stand, but it might pop up somewhere else during your Star Wars hotel stay (just a little foreshadowing for you there).

This time, in addition to the raspberry rice krispies, you could also get rice krispie Asteroid Balls.

You may also see these called rice-coated asteroid cookies.

Or you could try the Cookie Star Wars Cruiser sort-of pill-shaped snacks.

These were sort of like shortbread cookies.

During a return trip to the Halcyon (on its official inaugural voyage), we were also able to snack on some sweet and sour dried fruit.

What would you try?

Overall

Overall, the snacks in space were…alright. Most of them were fairly standard — especially with things like the trail mix and nuts.

There’s nothing wrong with them and they weren’t BAD, but they also weren’t incredibly delicious or really unique.

We wish they had either been more uniquely designed or featured more distinctive flavors. But if you’re looking for a snack while on the Starcruiser, you’ve got a few solid options that’ll hold you over until it’s blue shrimp time.

And don’t forget that you can also go to the Sublight Lounge for complimentary snacks (which were quite a bit better than the grab-and-go options if you ask us). The lounge is also open late, so even if the snack bar isn’t available, you can still get a midnight snack.
