Disney Cruise Line is unveiling a NEW cruise ship this year — the Disney Wish — and work on the ship just hit an exciting milestone!
The ship is sure to be extravagant, with things like a Star Wars bar, Disney’s first attraction at sea, a Frozen-themed theatrical dining experience, and so much more. There has been a delay on the construction of the ship due in part to the global pandemic, but it should be setting sail on its maiden voyage on July 14th, 2022! And now, Disney just gave us a look at a fun new addition to the ship.
Rapunzel has been installed on the Disney Wish cruise ship! Walt Disney Imagineering recently posted that their team in Germany installed the princess on the stern of the new cruise ship.
The entire figure is over 30 feet wide, with Rapunzel being 9 feet (!!) tall. Disney says this makes her big enough to wear a U.S. women’s sized 22 shoe! Rapunzel probably could’ve used that height when she was stuck in her tall tower, right?!
Disney says that “after 2 years of design and fabrication work with a team spread across 3 different time zones, we are all so thrilled to see Rapunzel adorning the stern of the ship where she and her side kick, Pascal, will welcome our Guests for many years to come! We can’t wait for the world to see her!” You can meet some of the Imagineers who worked on Rapunzel in the post’s videos below!
We can’t wait to see what this cruise ship is like in real life, so stay tuned to DFB for news and updates!

Curious about the life boats. I count 7 on the starboard side. If there are 14 lifeboats and a passenger capacity of 4000, then that is about 286 per lifeboat candy then there is the crew.
