Are you a bit like Pooh bear? Got a special spot in your heart for honey? Then there’s one particular booth you might want to check out at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival!

The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival is officially underway, and we’ve been making our way throughout the park to check out the delicious snacks, unique merchandise, and more. Now, it’s time to stop at a booth that has a number of returning items you might want to check out — it’s The Honey Bee-stro Hosted by National Honey Board!

Menu

As The Honey Bee-stro’s name suggests, the booth’s food items feature a particular focus on one ingredient — honey!

Every item on this menu is a returning item this year, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Let’s get into our thoughts on what you can find at this booth!

Food

The first thing on the menu is the Tupelo Honey and Sweet Corn Spoon Bread with jalapeños, bacon, and house-made whipped honey butter. You can grab this snack for $5. When we had this item last year, we didn’t really taste many of the spices listed in the ingredients, but we still thought it was good!

It was also more sweet than savory (at least to us). Personally, we feel like it would have been a stronger and more flavorful dish if it leaned more into the spices and had a better balance between those sweet and savory flavors. But if you like the idea of a sweeter corn bread, this might be a good choice!

Then we’ve got the Lavender Honey Mustard-marinated Chicken Flatbread with whipped honey-ricotta cheese, marinated vegetables, and goat cheese for $6. When we had this dish last year, we thought the Honey Mustard was a delicious standout!

We didn’t really get the lavender flavor, probably because of the overwhelming mustard flavor. While we did think that the Honey Mustard was REALLY good, it did sort-of take over the dish and drown out any other flavors. Last year our serving was also a bit soggy. Overall, it wasn’t bad by any means, but could have been just a bit better!

For dessert, there’s the Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake with orange blossom honey whipped cream, whipped honey, crystallized honey, honeycomb, dehydrated honey, and fennel pollen meringue kisses for $5.

In 2020, this was one of our BEST of the fest items. But the look changed a bit in 2021, and it started to be served with the honeycomb. When we had this dessert in 2021, we felt like it was okay, but not a favorite. Unfortunately, we liked the 2020 version a bit better.

The plating is undeniably cute, and the components of the dish were cute too, but they just didn’t deliver in terms of flavor. At least based on our experience last year, we felt like there were better desserts at the Festival to try over this one.

Now, let’s talk about the drinks!

Drinks

First up we have the booth’s returning non-alcoholic Honey-Peach Freeze in a Souvenir Spike the Bee Sipper Cup for $15. We’ve really enjoyed this Freeze in the past! We’ve found it to be a really tasty option (cool and refreshing) that isn’t too sweet.

But let’s be honest — the REAL star here is that Spike the Bee sipper! He may not be a Figment popcorn bucket, but we still think he’s pretty cute. And bonus — you won’t have to wait 6 hours to get him! 😂

Note that those 21+ can also get a version of the Honey-Peach Freeze with Blueberry Vodka for $12. You can’t really taste a big difference between the non-alcoholic and alcoholic versions. But if you’re not as focused on the sipper and want to make your freeze boozy, you can try this out.

Also available at this booth is the B. Nektar New Wave Lemonade Mead. You can get this drink in a 6-oz size for $5 or a 12-oz size for $9. This is a drink option that was available at this booth back in 2020.

When we had in 2020, we felt like it was a yummy drink with bright and tangy notes. We tried it again this year and felt like it tasted similar to a cider. There was a bit of bitterness on the back-end, and the lemon flavor was pretty strong! The sweetness level (at least to us) was similar to a Moscato, but it had the lightness of a cider. Our reporter who tried it didn’t exactly love it, but did note that it might be better if it were cold!

Still, if you’re looking for something that is a bit sour, a bit better, and as a strong lemon flavor, this might be a good pick.

Overall

Overall, this booth serves up those honey flavors with a mix of sweet and savory dishes. We wish the corn bread would deliver more on spices, and that the flatbread would tone down a bit of the honey mustard, but they are still both pretty good. The Honey-Peach Freeze is also a fairly nice drink to cool down with, but it’s really the Spike sipper we’re after!
