The Disney parks are continually updating health and safety regulations in order to comply with the latest guidance from health officials. Sometimes those updates are small changes (like adjusting signage in the parks) and sometimes they’re much bigger, like the change that’s happening right now at an international Disney park.

Disneyland Paris is making big changes when it comes to the face mask policy in the parks. For a while now, all guests have been required to wear face masks (at least in certain areas), but that’s about to change.
Beginning on March 2nd, 2022, guests will no longer be required to wear face masks in Disneyland Paris. The park’s website notes that masks “remain recommended for experiences such as [the] parade and nighttime spectacular ‘Disney Illuminations.'”

Guests ages 16 years old and above are still required to present a Vaccine Pass before they can enter Disneyland Paris. Guests ages 12 to 15 years old must present a Health Pass.

The Vaccine Pass is essentially a certificate proving that a person is fully vaccinated. The Health Pass verifies that someone is either fully vaccinated, has received a negative PCR or Antigen test within a certain time period, or has met certain requirements after testing positive for COVID-19.

These changes follow guidance from the French government, which announced that face masks will no longer be required at indoor locations beginning February 28th, 2022.

This change comes just before Disneyland Paris will begin celebrating its 30th Anniversary. The park will have a few new shows, gorgeous art installations, over 60 new snacks and treats, and plenty of merchandise for the occasion. In addition, the second Avengers Campus will open at Walt Disney Studios Park in the summer of 2022. The celebrations officially begin on March 6th, 2022.

Isn’t it cool that DisneyLand Paris will begin celebrating it’s Birthday on my Birthday?
As much as I didn’t necessarily mind the masks, I am very happy they’re gone now! Masks in Disney Paris had to be worn *everywhere and always*, so not just in certain areas. You had to wear a mask as soon as you stepped foot on Disney property; on the parking lot and the walk to the parks, in both parks, in the area between the parks, in the Village, around the Lake, in the hotels, on the walk to the hotels beyond the Lake. The only exception was at outside selfie spot locations (inside your photos would include masks), but as soon as you moved away from the character you had to put it on again. (And of course if you were drinking or sitting, but you had to be sitting down for that, and for smoking in the designated areas). When I first went last year, you couldn’t even take them off for the photos!
Safe to say I’ll be trying to redo some of my indoor photos!
