The Walt Disney Company isn’t the only company raising big bucks for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Another company has raised quite a bit for the foundation, too. That company is the Sunshine Flyer, which recently got into the business of shuttling Disney World guests to and from the Orlando International Airport after Disney suspended its Magical Express service.
The new motorcoach service, with its buses made to look like trains, has only been in business since February, but the company announced that it has already been able to make a BIG donation to the Make-A-Wish foundation! Sunshine Flyer donated 50% of its ticket sales in its first 50 days, which came out to $279,220.75!
They made this donate to Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida, and it will grant at least 28 wishes for children. The company also announced that all Make-A-Wish children and their families will get free service from the Sunshine Flyer indefinitely for their Disney wishes.
“As we near the end of our first 50 days of service, we could not be more thankful for the overwhelming customer response we’ve received. We’re proud to transform some of that excitement into Make-A-Wish, which is such an impactful organization,” said Frank Sherman, CEO of Transportation Management Services. “In launching the Sunshine Flyer, we knew how important it was that we give back to the Orlando community. Make-A-Wish Northern and Central Florida is the perfect partner for us, and we are honored to support them in continuing to make a difference in the lives of children, families, and communities throughout the region.”
If you’re looking for transportation on the Sunshine Flyer to Disney World from the Orlando Airport, you can book tickets on the company’s website. Tickets are $17 per adult and $12.50 per child each way. Note, though, that tickets must be booked at least four days in advance.

Hooray for the Sunshine Flyer! It is so refreshing to hear that there are still companies out there who are feel that profit isn’t their only goal. I know that is an extremely naive statement, but with all the changes at Disney that are hurting and disappointing fans on so many levels, it’s just nice to hear some positive news that actually makes you smile instead of making you feel as though your pockets are constantly being picked.
