Here’s a controversial statement for you to consider: some of Disney’s retro and vintage merchandise was CUTER than the new stuff they sell in the parks today. Agree? Disagree? What’s your take? If it weren’t for Disney’s new 50th Anniversary Vault Collection, we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation, but all the new (old) merchandise Disney started releasing really has us thinking about the good old days; you know, when park tickets were cheaper than a gallon of gas today. Ouch.

If you weren’t fortunate enough to hold onto your old Disney merchandise (or you weren’t born yet!), you can always check out the new items in Disney’s Vault Collection! Recently, we found a new Vault Collection item that is lots of fun (but also, lots of money). Let’s check it out!
Over at the Celebrity 5 & 10 store in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we decided to check out the inventory! This shop typically sells Disney’s Vault Collection merchandise, but you can also find some of the items in the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT.
What will Disney pull from the vault next?!
Lo and behold, we found a new item! This hooded jacket is a whopping $99.99, but there are some really fun retro details you need to see. On the front, there’s a letterman-style patch with the Walt Disney World logo, as well as some embroidery details, the Cinderella Castle, and a 76 patch. You’ll understand why in a second.
There are a lot of fun details on this jacket, but wait until you see the back!
The fun really comes from the back, though. This varsity-style jacket features a large graphic that reads, “America on Parade,” which is an homage to the old parade that ran for a short time in the Magic Kingdom!

Now that spring is here, it’s the perfect time for a light jacket to keep you warm on a cool spring evening! You can find this jacket in several places around Disney World, but we spotted it first over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. No. I would not pay $99 for the jacket. It’s a cute jacket, but not that cute. It’s too bad the clothing, backpacks and purses run so high. I would love to own some of that kind of Disney merch, but I can’t justify the prices against other things I have to do with my money.
