This could be a big week for the Disney Parks.
Bob Chapek in Disney World on its 50th Anniversary
In the wake of a canceled Management Retreat due to the controversy surrounding Disney’s response to the “Don’t Say Gay” bill in Florida, CEO Bob Chapek is inviting Wall Street investors to Orlando to visit Disney World next week.
According to Deadline, on Monday and Tuesday of next week, Bob Chapek is hosting a Parks-Focused Investor event in Orlando. This event will grant investors and analysts an up-close look at park operations.

The Disney Parks are currently responsible for 30% of the company’s revenue. Disney’s first quarterly earnings call confirms an increase in guest spending, showing that many people are returning to the parks after the initial closure in 2020 and subsequent capacity reductions.

This investor event finds Chapek in the middle of a controversy following the company’s response to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill, more commonly known as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

Great. Obviously, in order to really understand the average guest experience, these investors and analysts will be made to plan months in advance, use Genie+, wait on lines for rides and food, right?
Now that this bill has been signed into law, what is he planning to say? He supported it financially and never backtracked on supporting hate until CMs called him out publicly. To me, as a stockholder, this is way too little and way too late.
Can’t wait for the new Universal to open. Politics is not Disney’s mission. So tired of what Disney has become. The magic is gone.
Why wouldn’t the guests be spending more money!!!! You’ve raised the prices on EVERYTHING so naturally we HAVE to sped more!! Duh!! Any day I expect to be charged to go in a restroom!!!! The thing that really ticks me off is you don’t need this money. I saw where the the crowds have consistently broke records.
