The Florida heat can be brutal sometimes, even in months that aren’t typically considered the usual time for warm weather. And, on those days, is there anything better than a dip in the wave pool or a trip down Summit Plummet?
Yep, we’re talking about one of Disney World’s water parks — Blizzard Beach! The park has been closed for refurbishment since January 1st of this year, with only Typhoon Lagoon in operation. But now, Disney has finally shared when Blizzard Beach will be reopening!
Blizzard Beach will be reopening on November 13th, 2022 so we’ll be able to hit the slopes at this water park again soon!
And, there will be some NEW things at the water park! The kids area has received a Frozen makeover, and there will be some new Frozen food offerings, as well as some new beverages for the adults to sip on. The new Orange Slope DOLE Whip Swirl will be at Warming Hut and the new Red Slope Bloody Mary will be at Frostbite Freddy’s, while you can find the new Melt-A-Way Margarita at Polar Pub. There will also be brand new Cajun Shrimp and Grits as well as a Watta-Melon Passion Lemonade from Lottawatta Lodge.
Some returning food favorites include the Earidescent Ice Dream Cone, 50th Ice Dream Sand Pail Sundae, Walt’s Chili Nachos, seasonal DOLE Whip offerings, and a Double Bacon Cheeseburger which will be found at various dining locations throughout the water park.
And, there will be some fun happening for the holidays at Blizzard Beach, too! Limited-time holiday offerings will run through December 31st and include holiday treats, daily snowfall, holiday music, and festive inner tubes. And, guests will even be able to meet a tropical-dressed Santa Claus! Some of the treats include an Orange Bird DOLE Whip cone and a Peppermint Milkshake.
Blizzard Beach is the larger of Disney’s two waterparks, featuring 17 slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, water playgrounds, and even a ski lift that will take you to the top of Mount Gushmore. Some popular attractions at the water park include Summit Plummet, Teamboat Springs, the Toboggan Racers, Cross Country Creek, and Runoff Rapids.
We’ll let you know about any other news on the water park’s reopening.
For now, you can check out other Disney news, like Akershus being added to the Candlelight Processional Dining Packages in Disney World, when Fantasmic! will reopening in Disney World, and Doctor Who coming to Disney+.

About time. A long wait for a few frosty drinks. Couldn’t Disney have added a few new features like a snow gun that would operate similar to the water guns at Typhoon Lagoon or maybe something new and improved…
