IMPORTANT UPDATE: Roundup Rodeo BBQ will open on March 23, 2023!
There are some things that Disney just doesn’t talk about — like upcoming projects that have unknown fates (cough cough, the EPCOT transformation).
For a long time, the table service restaurant previously announced for Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios (Roundup Rodeo BBQ) was included in that unknown category. It was supposed to open in 2020, but we all know how 2020 went, so the opening was delayed. The status of the restaurant remained a mystery until recently when Disney said it would be opening in 2022! We still didn’t know when exactly the restaurant would be opening…UNTIL NOW.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ will open on March 23, 2023!
Disney has said that this new table service restaurant will be a “unique, fun, family-friendly dining experience” where guests will be able to eat “while surrounded by a kaleidoscope of toys, games, and playsets that Andy has brought together to create his one-of-a-kind rodeo.” They just revealed some more details about the storyline, saying that using his imagination, Woody’s Roundup toys, and other playthings, Andy has built this rodeo restaurant for all his friends.
There will be barbecue-inspired comfort foods here served family-style, with platters of house-smoked meats, a roundup of sides, and some miniature sweet surprises. You can see the full menu HERE!
Some of the things you’ll find inside include a steam train supported by colored pencils, an impressive house of cards, and game boards featuring characters from the Toy Story movies.
The dining room will also feature the rodeo’s star performers: Jessie, Trixie, and Bo Peep with her leapin’ sheep Billy, Goat, and Gruff!
You’ll experience “first-hand what it feels like to be one of Andy’s honorary toys.” Andy’s Rodeo takes place with western town and train station playsets mixed together with surprising, playful details, like some fan-favorite Pixar characters as they’ve never been seen before!”

I know it takes time to build and open a resturant, but why is this one taking so long? They have bulit and opened So-Fi stadium in L.A. in just 4 years. This simple resturant is going on 3 years. Seriusly, what is the hold up?

There must be some real internal issues with Disney since it seems like everything takes longer than projected. I agree with Rob. It’s ridiculous. Not everything can be blamed on Covid. Just look at the construction on Epic Universe at Universal. They are making progress day and night.
