There is no guarantee that your favorite ride will be open when you visit Disney World.
Rides can shut down unexpectedly for many reasons, like for bad weather, technical difficulties, or even large power outages. And today, there are some very popular rides that are shut down in one Disney World park!
UPDATE: Tower of Terror and Rise of the Resistance have reopened!
Earlier this morning, THREE popular rides were closed in Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and Rise of the Resistance.
There was a Cast Member standing out on Sunset Boulevard telling people that both Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster were down due to technical difficulties and they did not have an estimated opening time.
Rise was also listed as being down on My Disney Experience, which isn’t a surprise, as the ride shuts down quite often.
When popular rides close, wait times at rides that are open will most likely be higher than usual. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on if and when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster reopens today!

Tower or Terror was closed off and on when we wentA during spring break too (mid April). I think Arrowsmith was also closed and that’s why we couldn’t get on it. Then the lines get long.

Is it just me, but are more and more Disney rides breaking down more often? You’d think during the Pandemic they would have done extensive maintenance and upgrades. Instead it looks like they just neglected them.

We were at HS Tuesday. It wasn’t awesome that 3 big rides went down at the same time, but thanks to all your advice & videos my family still had a Very Successful day!
Thanks for all you do!

When you have hundreds is thousands of people at extreme capacity going every single day, this is what happens. Cause and effect. They will open soon and all will be fine.
