We’ve seen a LOT of news from Disney this week, including the return of a fan-favorite Halloween party, a Disneyland hotel re-theme, and an update about the upcoming Haunted Mansion movie. With all the news, it’s easy to forget about some details that might affect your upcoming Disney World trip! Don’t worry — we’re here to help.
We’ve got a list for you of all the things that are going to be CLOSED in Disney World this coming week. Certain rides, shows, pools, and more will be unavailable due to refurbishments, and we don’t want those closures to come as a disappointing surprise. So check out this guide to make sure you’re prepared!
Let’s start out the list with Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom
The Walt Disney World Railroad‘s long closure is continuing in Magic Kingdom this week. This attraction still does not have a reopening date.
Part of the reason for the closure is the construction happening over in Tomorrowland on the TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster. It’s likely that the Railroad won’t open to guests until construction finishes up over there.
We’ve seen a tunnel being built near the coaster that is likely for the Walt Disney World Railroad to pass through. There isn’t an end date for the TRON construction, so we’ll be looking out for more information!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Finding Nemo: The Musical is still closed. This attraction will reopen sometime this summer as an updated show called “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!”
We recently saw a preview of the new show, which gave some details about the set design, characters, and plot. The updated version is based on Finding Dory.

EPCOT
We were hoping that Souk-Al-Magreb would open in EPCOT’s Morocco pavilion at World Showcase last week, but alas it has not yet returned.
The shop is not listed on the refurbishments calendar anymore, so we don’t know when it might open for guests. We’ll keep an eye on it and let you know about any updates!
Update: Souk-al-Magreb is now open in EPCOT! We saw this shop open over the weekend.
So now you can head in to pick up souvenirs inspired by Morocco.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid is still closed in Hollywood Studios, and this show doesn’t have a reopening date yet.
Fantasmic! is also closed in Disney World. This show will return sometime in 2022, but we don’t have any specific details about the opening date yet. We do know that when Fantasmic! returns, there will be some updates and changes to the show.
And good news for Disneyland fans — the show is returning to Disneyland Park on May 28th, 2022! So if you can’t wait for the Disney World version to return, you could always head over to the West Coast park to watch Fantasmic! there.
3 popular rides were riding the struggle bus in Hollywood Studios this week.
Disney World Water Parks
Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is closed for refurbishments right now. We don’t know when this park could reopen, as Disney hasn’t given any updates on its return.
However, Typhoon Lagoon (Disney’s other water park) is open for guests to visit! So you can still head in to enjoy water rides, pools, and themed snacks.
Learn all about Typhoon Lagoon here.
Disney World Hotels
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is still open for guests to reserve rooms, but you will likely see some construction going on while you’re there. That’s because Disney is in the process of creating 200 new DVC Resort Studios, which are located in the Big Pine Key building of this resort.
If you want to stay in the new rooms, you can book your reservations now. The rooms have a Mary Poppins Returns theme, with pastel colors and little details that nod to the movie.
They’re expected to be ready in the summer of 2022.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is also getting some new DVC rooms. In fact, Disney is constructing a whole new building of DVC villas. This building will sit on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon.
The new villas will be located where the Spirit of Aloha dinner show used to be, so that event has been permanently closed.
The new DVC villas are expected to open sometime in late 2024.
Hotel Pool Refurbishments
At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, the Martinique Village pool is closed for refurbishment. This pool was expected to reopen in mid-April, so it should be ready for guests any day now.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Samawati Springs Pool has officially reopened! Now all the pools at this hotel are open for guests to use.
The nearby Maji Pool Bar also reopened with this pool.
