Slowly but surely, operations have begun returning to normal around the Disney parks.
Disney Dream
Although some things have returned to pre-pandemic “normal,” the Disney Cruise Line has still been maintaining certain health and safety guidelines including requiring all guests ages 5 and up to be fully vaccinated prior to sailing. In addition, guests departing from ports in the U.S. and Canada had been required to take a COVID-19 test on embarkation day at the port — but now it looks like that will be changing soon!
Guests sailing on the Disney Cruise Line from ports in the United States or Canada after June 7th, 2022, will now be required to obtain their own COVID-19 test prior to embarkation day.
Disney Wonder
This applies to all passengers regardless of vaccine eligibility or status, though non-vaccine eligible guests (ages 4 and under) are still required to take a second COVID-19 test at the terminal before boarding. The results of the tests for all guests must be uploaded to the Safe Passage website by midnight the day before boarding.
Disney Cruise Line
The Disney Cruise Line website says, “For sailings departing US and Canadian ports on or after June 7, 2022, fully vaccinated Guests who upload their pre-trip test results to the Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day will be exempt from embarkation testing. All other fully vaccinated Guests must be tested at the terminal before boarding and will be charged for the cost of the test.” The cost for these tests ranges from $74 to $125.Â
Previously, COVID-19 tests on embarkation day were required for all guests and were paid for by the Disney Cruise Line.

Perfect!! Going backwards, great move Disney
So off putting that Disney Cruises are now the single hardest place to enter in June 2022. No other place on Earth is still requiring testing for the vaccinated to enter. Very odd.
Hi ! Any words about the delay of the test ? We embark on Disney cruise on July the 14th and will have to be tested on July the 11th just before leaving home (as we’re european and need one day of travel to go in US). Do you think our prior covid test will be considered as valid by Disney Cruise Line ?

My family of 6 booked a Holland America cruise because Disney requires mask in the theater. Disney has really lost its magic with the failure to keep up with science and end the mask requirement. I see they are being equally as silly with their testing as well.
What about home test? Can you bring your own test and take it at the port? How far in advance do you need to test? What kind of certification do you need for the test?
Glad to see the testing at the port (except for 5 and under) will no longer be necessary. That was so nerve wracking it almost made going on the cruise not worth it. I like the idea of testing prior much better as that is what other cruise lines are requiring.
How does this work if you have a B2B cruise?
It’s great when we first get on but what happens on the second cruise???
So now, we have to take a day out of our PRE CRUISE vacation at Disney World to go find a place in Orlando that we can get tested and then upload those results. Great. I hope they have a place at Disney Springs to do this since the allure of staying in the “bubble” is so as not to need a vehicle. (They probably don’t, and pretty sure they don’t care!) This is insane. Vaccinations from a year and a half ago are still valid, riiiight!!!!. Is anyone there really following the science? Shouldn’t we be testing for the annual flu, too????
How many hours do they require for the test result to be valid? The post just says upload it the day before embarkation.
Tested positive at the terminal on Friday. I tested myself day before with sore throat and it was negative, so it seemed like more normal allergies. I was frustrated and disappointed but I’m actually so glad they caught it before I got onboard since before I would have gotten off the ship on Monday, all 5 of my kids staying with a friend were sick too. I could’ve infected others onboard as well. So I can see the benefit to how it’s been for sure!
I wish Disney Cruise Line would but out a step by step instructions of how to upload vaccination cards and COVID results.
