It’s getting into the summer months of 2022, which means a LOT of people are gearing up for their Disney World vacations! If you’re among the crowds who will be flocking to the parks this summer, we’re here to help you out with all kinds of packing hacks, planning tips, and updates on the latest news.
Before you go, be sure you know what’s NOT going to be open in the theme parks. That way, you can avoid the disappointment of looking forward to an attraction or perk and then realizing once you arrive that it’s not available. To help you out, we’ve got a full list of closures you’ll see in Disney World this June in the parks and hotels!
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom has a few closures right now that will continue throughout June. Only one of these attractions has a specific reopening date, though!
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World railroad has been closed for over 3 years, and it doesn’t have a reopening date yet. This attraction was closed for some refurbishments and to make way for construction on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster, coming to Tomorrowland.
Because of construction on that coaster, the train can’t run on its usual course. Luckily, we’ve spotted a tunnel in the area that seems to be meant for the Railroad, which is a good sign that the train could reopen soon!
Currently, the Railroad is scheduled to be closed through late July 2022 at least, which is as far as Disney’s refurbishments calendar goes.
Harmony Barber Shop
The Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, U.S.A., has been closed since the parks reopened in 2020. Now, we finally have a reopening date for this spot! It will open its doors on July 31st, 2022. You can start making reservations on the My Disney Experience app on June 28th, 2022.
At this spot, you can get haircuts for kids or adults, and there’s a special My First Haircut package available for toddlers!
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is also closed in Disney World (including the locations in Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort).
Although we don’t have a specific reopening date for this salon, Disney has announced that it will return before the end of 2022.

EPCOT
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 is still available for now, but it will be closing at the end of June. Starting on June 27th, 2022, the show is no longer displaying hours of operation.
This attraction is likely closing to make room for the Appleseed Orchard Booth at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which begins on July 14th this year.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Finding Nemo: The Musical
Finding Nemo: The Musical is unavailable in Animal Kingdom, and the original show actually won’t be returning to this park. Instead, guests will be able to see Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond later this summer!
The updated show is based on Finding Dory and will include some new sets and characters. Fans of the original show don’t need to despair, though — Disney has announced that some of the music from the previous show will be returning!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! is a popular nighttime show at Hollywood Studios, but it’s been closed for a long time now. Disney has announced that this show will return sometime this year, though!
When it reopens for guests, the show will have a few new characters and scenes.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is still closed in Hollywood Studios, and it doesn’t have a reopening date yet.
Disney hasn’t said if or when this show will reopen for guests to watch the story of The Little Mermaid.
A Lightning Lane has been REMOVED from one Hollywood Studios attraction.
Disney World Resort Hotels
All of the hotels on this list are still open for guests to reserve rooms, but each has some amenities missing or updates happening in June.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is in the process of building 200 new DVC Resort Studios, which will be located in the Big Pine Key building of the hotel.
The rooms are available for booking now, and they should be ready for guests by the end of June 2022!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the Spirit of Aloha dinner show has closed permanently.
This show was canceled to make room for a new building of DVC Villas, which will be opening at the hotel sometime in 2024.
The new building will also have shopping and dining locations, according to Disney.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue will finally be returning on June 23rd of this year!
Reservations became available on May 26th, so you can reserve your table now. And you may want to make those reservations ASAP — this popular dinner show could fill up quickly!

Disney World Water Parks
Blizzard Beach
Disney World’s Blizzard Beach water park is currently closed, and Disney hasn’t announced when this park could reopen.
However, Typhoon Lagoon — the other Disney World water park — is currently open and welcoming guests!
