Orlando International Airport has been in the news quite often recently.
This is mainly due to the new projects happening at the airport, like the Brightline Train and the new terminal opening up later this year. There are also some new airlines flying into the airport and new bus services to and from the airport and Disney World. But, all of these exciting new things happening doesn’t mean Orlando International Airport is exempt from any issues. Let’s check out why flying in and out of Orlando could be more difficult today.
Severe thunderstorms happening in Central Florida this morning could cause flights to be delayed at Orlando International Airport.
A Ground Stop was issued at the airport due to the weather, according to WESH’s Eric Burris. This impacts both inbound and outbound flights. Around 9AM, 11 flights had already been delayed and 2 canceled.
A 'Ground Stop' has been issued for @MCO due to storms in the area- holding some flights from heading our way. This will of course impact inbound and then outbound flights. We will be watching things closely and updating you as we get information…
