Uhhh…Disney World, are you okay?!
The rain and heat we’re experiencing around the resort today happens every now and then. But on top of that, we’ve got huge amount of closures, cancelations, and delays we’re seeing?! It seems like everywhere we look, something new is down. We honestly don’t even know where to start with this list of struggles today (as it’s quite long), but let’s just jump right in.
Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage had to cancel their 11AM performance today. Cast Members in the area advised that we may see more cancelations for the show throughout the day, however, the show is currently running normally as of the 1PM performance.
Staying in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular show experienced technical difficulties today. The first performance of the day stopped mid-show, due to the temple walls malfunctioning. The second show of the day was also affected by the same technical issues, so guests were only shown the first scene before ending the show. The crew said they “will get the problem fixed,” and encouraged guests to return to the 1:15PM, 3:15PM, and 4:30PM showtimes.
Indy is in trouble! ‼️
The Stunt Spectacular show is having some technical difficulties, but Cast Members are trying there best to still entertain 👀

As if the technical difficulties weren’t enough, we were also warned by Guest Relations that the other showtimes could be canceled due to lightning. And, of course, lightning is in the area. So there’s that.
Well, there’s definitely lightning in the area ⚡️ pic.twitter.com/Un3klo0AU3

Anyways…back to the list. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire in Magic Kingdom was canceled due to weather! This is pretty normal for stormy days like today, so it wasn’t too surprising.
The 10:30AM Pixar Pals Motorcade at Hollywood Studios was also significantly delayed this morning. Luckily, guests were still able to watch it, just a little later than scheduled.
We also saw some forms of transportation closed due to the weather, like the Boat and Skyliner!
As far as attractions go, we noticed some attractions go down due to the rain, like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad…
…Splash Mountain…
…and the Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
Seriously — it was madness!
Meanwhile in Magic Kingdom, rain has closed Splash Mountain 💦 and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 🚂

Before that, we saw that Space Mountain was closed due to technical difficulties. The lights were on, so we got a good look at the track from the PeopleMover!
In today’s PeopleMover episode, the people are moving, but not so much on Space Mountain 🚀
Do you like seeing dark rides with the lights on? 👀 pic.twitter.com/bzjcwRICQ9

They would have the same closures, cancellations and delays WITHOUT the heat and bad weather! Who are we kidding here?
The Big Disney Machine is seriously broken.
As just one example, why the heck has the Hoop-De-Do Revue been closed all this time!?
Every level of their operations has been performing pitifully.

The storms blowing through have been pretty severe. Lightning going downward, not across. As to cast members, I know covid is on the upswing here. It’s pretty bad. In schools, too. We’re having a hard time finding contractors – in the last week, 2 came down with covid. It’s really bad here.
