Let’s face it: Disney World days can be EXHAUSTING!
Lots of folks rely on caffeinated beverages, whether that be a cup of coffee, a soda, or an energy drink to get them through the day (and really, we can’t blame them). There are lots of interesting coffee-based beverages to try in Disney World, but if you’re not a fan of coffee, you may feel like you have fewer options. Starbucks Refreshers are a good option if you’re looking for a caffeine-based drink that’s not coffee, and we spotted a new on in the Magic Kingdom today!
We spotted a new Starbucks Refresher at the Main Street Bakery (the Starbucks location) in Magic Kingdom. The Pineapple Passionfruit Refresher is — just that — pineapple and passionfruit flavors mixed together with diced pineapple.
This drink LOOKS good, but unfortunately, for our reporter the positivity ended there. At first sip, we thought it would be delicious, but then it just went downhill. Stay with us here, our reporter said they thought the drink tasted more like real pineapple than Pineapple DOLE Whip does, but at the same time tastes more artificial. We definitely think there are artificial sweeteners involved.
When we ordered the drink, the Cast Member asked us if we would like it with lemonade. The drink normally comes with water instead, so that’s how we ordered it, but we regret that decision and think it would probably be better with lemonade. Personally, that’s how we tend to order our refreshers. The lemonade just adds a bit more body to the drink.
At first blush, it tastes okay, but the aftertaste is just not good at all.
We tried the ✨Pineapple Passion Fruit Refresher✨ from Starbucks today 🍍 We thought it might’ve been better with some lemonade added, if we’re being honest 🤷 Would you try it? ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/xFnaBWBmDn

We did give it another try though with coconut milk instead of water and we thought that was a BIG improvement. It gave the drink more of a tropical feeling and our reporter said it vaguely reminded her of both POG (passion fruit, orange, guava) juice AND Dole Whip — just less flavorful.
If you’re someone who really likes pineapple and passionfruit, you might like this drink, but otherwise, it might not be the right choice. If you do decide to order it, we would recommend having it with lemonade or coconut milk instead, to see if that helps with the artificial flavors. This refresher is $4.79 for a Grande (medium) size.
Looking for a non-coffee caffeinated beverage? Starbucks has other refreshers like the Kiwi Starfruit Refresher, or the Strawberry Acai Refresher.
Starbucks also has energy drinks that have a little bit of an artificial sweetener taste, but are a good, relatively inexpensive option, especially if you’re on the go. We’ve spotted the energy drinks at several Starbucks locations around Disney World.

I believe you, JJ. I tried the Pineapple Refresher a couple of days ago and I was not a fan.
