No matter where you go in Disney World these days, it seems like something exciting is happening!
From brand new 50th Anniversary treats and celebrations to EPCOT festivals and groundbreaking new attractions — there’s plenty to see and do! We’ve been keeping a close watch on the construction progress over at TRON Lightcycle Run in Magic Kingdom, and we recently saw something that DEFINITELY caught our eye!
TRON Lightcycle Run will be the newest coaster to join Magic Kingdom, and will feature an incredible outdoor canopy with shifting light panels and color-changing effects. Disney recently shared a sneak peek of the canopy lighting — but now we’ve seen it with our own eyes!
Talk about a light show — the TRON canopy is giving serious glow cube vibes. We got to see it switch from color to color and then the real show started.

It turns out the TRON coaster canopy doesn’t just light up blue (like pretty much everything in the movie does) but can display a wide range of different hues. Disney hasn’t shared exactly what the TRON light show will look like, so there’s a chance that not all of these colors will be present during the actual ride.
TRON Lightcycle Run doesn’t have an opening timeline yet — at least not one that Disney has shared with the public. For now, we’ll just continue watching the progress as construction moves along! We recently spotted some additional trucks and equipment being moved into the construction zone…
…and we’ve caught a few glimpses at the tunnel where the Walt Disney World Railroad will pass on by, too! It looks like a large hole is being dug directly in front of the train tunnel as well.
We’re always on the lookout for the latest attraction updates and more from around Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!
