It’s been a BIG week for Disney news!
The Fuzzy Tauntaun drink is MISSING from Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets went on sale for select guests, and Mirabel has finally made her Disney World debut! There are some exciting things happening, and in Disney World, big changes are coming — let’s take a look at the biggest construction updates from this week!
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
There are a few new walls up over at TRON! The perimeter of this attraction is officially starting to take shape. It looks like there will be several curved walls on the outer areas, mimicking the curves of the ride’s canopy.
And, while we were eating dinner over at California Grill in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we got to see quite the light show! You can see TRON lit up all the way on the right.Â
Disney hasn’t shared an opening timeline for this attraction yet, so stay tuned for the latest updates!
Everything We Know About the TRON Ride!
Walt Disney World Railroad
We know, we know. This doesn’t LOOK like a picture of the Walt Disney World Railroad. But, in the center of this photo is where you’ll find the tunnel that runs under TRON!
Construction on TRON has temporarily suspended operations of the Walt Disney World Railroad. Hopefully, we will be able to ride this train again soon!
EPCOT
Mitsukoshi
In the Japan Pavilion, the Mitsukoshi pick-a-pearl area is walled off by sheets.Â
This area had been closed for quite a while, but now it’s completely blocked off. We’ll keep an eye on this for updates!
Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana
If you’re looking for the center of EPCOT, it’s a little bit hard to find right now. Construction has been underway on Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana for a long time, and we’re now seeing construction of what will be CommuniCore Plaza and Hall.Â
CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall are two new parts of the EPCOT Transformation, and you can read about them here!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Toy Story Mania Gift Shop
The Toy Story Mania Gift Shop is still under construction and will potentially be replaced by the new shop coming to Toy Story Land.Â
For now, guests have to exit through a detour with no Toy Story gear to greet them on the way out.
Here’s What We Know About What’s Coming to Toy Story Land
Disney Resorts
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
The Polynesian is undergoing an expansion that will feature brand-new guest rooms, dining, and shopping locations. For now, several areas of the resort are blocked off to guests.Â
As part of the expansion, the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show was ended, and the building it was housed in has been demolished.Â
Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest construction updates so you’re prepared for your Disney World visit!
