Just imagine: you’re walking down Main Street, U.S.A. as the sweet smell of the Main Street Confectionery wafts into your nostrils.
You’re having the perfect start to your day and then BAM — construction has impacted your plans! Even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, things can go awry and if you’re not prepared it just might affect your trip. Luckily, we’re constantly keeping an eye out for the latest construction updates from around Disney World — so let’s take a look at the biggest construction updates from this week!
Magic Kingdom
Center Street
The “street” part of Center Street in Magic Kingdom has been closed off for a while now. The area is being refurbished, and it looks like some pavement resurfacing is going on.
The street is blocked off, but you can still walk down the sidewalk on either side of it for now! We’ll keep an eye out for any updates on this area.
TRON: Lightcycle Run
More and more concrete structures are being added to the ground in front of TRON’s canopy. We’re not too sure what these structures will end up being, but they look sleek and futuristic just like the attraction.
Disney is keeping quiet on the opening timeline for TRON, but you can be sure we’re looking out for any update we can get!
We did see some more testing this week, so fingers crossed we hear more soon.

EPCOT
Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana
There has been quite a bit of progress on Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, the newest attraction coming to EPCOT. This walkthrough water-based ride is going to be an immersive attraction like we’ve never seen before!
The attraction will consist of large rock formations and waterfalls, and you can see more and more of those rock formations being built here.
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza will be joining this area of EPCOT as well, and we can’t wait until construction is finished so we can finally say goodbye to “WallCOT!”

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Jessie’s Trading Post
We got a HUGE update from Hollywood Studios this week, when Disney unveiled the new mural and artwork for Jessie’s Trading Post! This is the NEW gift shop that will greet guests as they exit Toy Story Mania.
And now, the new store has officially OPENED!
We went inside and checked it all out.

Disney Resorts
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
It looks like more and more of the ground has been cleared where the Spirit of Aloha building once sat. Disney is clearing the area out and making way for a brand new building that will be home to more hotel rooms, dining options, and even merchandise locations.
The construction is slated to be completed in late 2024. We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction around Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned for updates and more news!
