There is so much that’s magical about Disney World. Meeting your favorite characters, riding exciting roller coasters, taking that first bite of a DOLE Whip…so many great things to experience. But what about the not-so-magical parts of the parks?
Unfortunately, you’ll need to plan for a few less-than-magical realities if you’re going to Disney World soon. The weather might not cooperate — it can be very hot one minute and then storming the next. Or maybe a restaurant is out of your favorite snack (in which case, we can recommend a few backup options). And you might encounter some ride and attraction closures during your next visit to the parks. To make sure you don’t get caught off guard, here’s a full list of what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World next week.
Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad will continue its long closure in this park. The Railroad has been closed for a couple of years now, and it still doesn’t have a reopening date.
Some construction in Tomorrowland on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster has interrupted the train tracks. As a result, the train can’t pass through that area. We’re expecting the Railroad to remain closed until TRON construction is finished. Disney hasn’t yet announced a timeline for that project, but we have spotted some testing of the coaster recently!
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Enchanted Tales with Belle is also closed in Magic Kingdom.
Disney hasn’t announced when this attraction could reopen, but we’ll continue to watch for updates. In the meantime, you can meet some Disney princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall in this park!
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
Pete’s Silly Sideshow is a character meet-and-greet location in the Storybook Circus land. Previously, guests could meet Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy here, but it’s been closed for a while now.
Disney has announced that the attraction will reopen sometime “in the coming months.” Keep in mind that there are a lot of other characters to meet in Magic Kingdom in the meantime.
Harmony Barber Shop
This barber shop will reopen soon, although it’ll remain closed for all of next week. You can visit once again beginning on July 31st.
If you wanted to get your hair cut here, you can book a reservation now.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is also closed in Magic Kingdom, but it will reopen next month, on August 25th.
This salon is open to kids ages 3 to 12, and they can be transformed into Disney princesses and princes. We’ll let you know when reservations open for this experience.
Check out a NEW snack in Magic Kingdom.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show will be closed for all of next week in Hollywood Studios. This show has been closed for a long time, and Disney hasn’t given any updates about its potential return.
If you’re looking for a Little Mermaid-themed attraction, head to Magic Kingdom to ride Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid.
Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! is going to be closed for all of next week, but Disney has announced that the popular nighttime show will return sometime this year.
We’re over halfway through 2022 already (can you believe that?), so we’re expecting an update from Disney at any time.

EPCOT
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
It’s a great time of year to visit EPCOT because the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is going on right now! We’ve already reviewed EVERY food booth and decided which snacks are the BEST. One of the food booths at this festival has taken over the Canada Far & Wide theater, which means that the movie that usually plays here is not running.
Instead, you can visit the theater to find an Apple Crumble Tart and a wide variety of apple-flavored drinks. We’re expecting Canada Far & Wide in CircleVisin 360 to be unavailable until the festival ends, which will be on November 19th.

Disney World Hotels
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is going to reopen this coming week! The official reopening date is July 28th.
If you want to splurge on one of the most luxurious meals in Disney World, you can make your reservations now.

Disney World Water Parks
Blizzard Beach
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed, and Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date for this park.
For those who want to cool off during their Disney World trip, you can still visit Typhoon Lagoon — Disney World’s other water park. There, you’ll find a lazy river, several slides, and some tasty snacks to try.
Check out Typhoon Lagoon here!
Remember that some attractions can close without much notice, such as if there’s bad weather in the area or if they’re experiencing technical difficulties. Check out our list of all the rides that close when it storms so that you know which attractions to avoid in that scenario. If a ride goes down, keep watching the My Disney Experience app to see when it reopens. You can usually catch that ride with a lower wait time if you get there soon after it reopens!

Ira says
This company is totally rudderless.
Imagine being a proud Canadian, and your attraction is closed in order to sell you food. Like what…
They can’t have an outdoor food kiosk like everyone ELSE!?
They just don’t care, and don’t think things through.
I’m a Floridian, and for my visit last year it was closed for Food & Wine. And it will be closed again when I go in September???
A FANTASTIC presentation! No huge lines or long wait times? So what does Disney do?
Close it for no legitimate reason.
