It’s time to deck the halls, but NOT with mistletoe and candy canes.
We’re celebrating Halfway to Halloween, which means we’re getting ready for spooky season, when we’ll set out the tombstones, string the cobwebs, and put up the Halloween tree. If you haven’t heard of a Halloween tree before, just trust us — it’s a thing. And now you can create your own! We’ve pulled together everything you’ll need right here.
To begin your spooky-yet-festive masterpiece, you’ll first need a tree of course! And because this is a Halloween tree, we’re going with a black one. We found a 6-foot black Halloween/Christmas tree at Target.
If you want an even bigger tree, the 7.5-foot version is also available. Each tree comes with a metal stand and divides into 3 parts for easy storage and assembly. The trees are unlit, but we’ll fix that shortly.

Now to address the lighting problem: Amazon has some mini Christmas lights that are available in orange!
This strand contains 150 LED orange lights (the strand is about 33 feet long).

On to the tree skirt (we’re not cutting any corners with this tree — only the best for Halloween). We’ll keep it pretty simple for the skirt since we plan to go big with the ornaments. We found a black and white checkered tree skirt at Target.
The skirt is 20 inches in diameter and ties with hook-and-loop fasteners.

With the tree up and strung with lights, complete with its skirt at the bottom, we’re finally ready to add some ornaments! Disney has several options online right now, and you can also find some great choices online from Amazon and Target.
An iconic Haunted Mansion figure is represented in this ornament, which features The Bride holding a bouquet of roses and an ax.
The figure lights up as well!

Another Haunted Mansion ornament is the Ghost Host ornament, which features the Ghost Host himself and the Haunted Mansion’s gates.
It has a satin black ribbon for hanging.

On to a different spooky Disney story, let’s check out some Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments. First is this set of ornaments depicting various characters from the movie.Â
The set includes Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws, Sallie, Lock, Shock, Barrel, and a Man-Eating Wreath.

You can also get this set of Jack Skellington plush ornaments if you’re going for a more unified look on your tree.
Each ornament is about 2.5″ in diameter, and you get six ornaments in the set.
Click here to buy the Jack Skellington ornament set.
The next ornament comes all the way from Sleepy Hollow — it depicts the Headless Horseman (who is also one of our favorite characters to see in the Boo To You Parade at Disney World’s Halloween party).
The ornament is of the Headless Horseman holding up his Jack-o-lantern.

Now for the topper! We found this Jack-o-lantern tree topper on Amazon that might be the perfect finishing touch.
It measures about 5.4″ x 7.8″ and lights up.

With a skirt, topper, and lots of ornaments, your tree is all ready to go for this coming Halloween season! If you’re looking for more spooky decorations, we’ve got you covered.
