If you love trying new and limited-time snacks, NOW is the time to visit Disney World!
With the Halloween season officially here, fall-flavored snacks have started to appear in the parks and resorts. We’ve already sampled our way through a new slushy, a surprising burger, and a cupcake that’s tasty but needs to come with a warning! But there’s another new snack to try — and this one comes with a whole bunch of toppings.
Introducing the NEW Pain and Panic Hot Dog! This specialty hot dog is one you’ll find over at Casey’s Corner. It’s an all-beef hot dog, topped with sweet and spicy onion relish, sriracha mustard, and spicy cheese-flavored snacks.
The snack is available both during regular park hours and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (so you do NOT need a party ticket to get this one). It’s priced at $11.99.
You might be thinking — “spicy onion relish, sriracha mustard, AND spicy cheese snacks — that’s a lot of spice!” And…you’d be right! This was a whole bunch of spice all packed into one savory snack.
Our reporter shared that they’re not a mustard person so the mustard felt pretty overpowering to them. That’s just something to keep in mind. But the sriracha flavor here was great and honestly pretty subtle. The spicy cheese snacks (a.k.a. Flamin’ Cheetos) on top were also a great touch. They were a tiny bit stale though, which was unfortunate. Had they been more crunchy, it would have been perfection. But even with the bit of staleness, we really liked the flavor they provided to the dish.
The spicy onion relish was, in a word, “YUM!” It provided a little kick and tingle to the tongue but wasn’t anything overpoweringly spicy. The onion was delicate and also not overpowering.
Pair that all with a fresh, juicy, and GIANT hot dog, and you’ve got quite the treat. The bread was also fresh and tasty (though just an average bun).
For the price, you do get fries as well (or a cutie orange). We opted for fries and they were delicious, salty, and hot.
Overall, if you’re a spice and mustard person, this is something we think you’ll really enjoy! But if you’re only so-so on mustard, be aware that it can feel overpowering. Plus there is a bit of kick to this dish from the spicy elements, so if you’re super spice averse, beware!
