Get your finest ballgowns and tiaras (or battle armor and swords) ready because World Princess Week is just around the river bend.
Whether you love classic Disney princesses like Cinderella and Snow White or more recent takes on what it means to be a princess with Merida and Mulan, World Princess Week is celebrating all of them! The event kicks off on August 21st, and in the past Disney has honored these royal ladies with special treats in the parks, merchandise, and more. Disney just announced what we can look forward to for World Princess Week this year, and we’re sharing the royal decree!
World Princess Week is part of the Ultimate Princess Celebration that began last year, and Disney just announced all the special offerings we can expect from this royal affair.
The celebration lasts from August 21st through August 27th, 2022 and Disney is bringing us all sorts of ways to commemorate the princesses — like officially introducing Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon as the newest Disney Princess!
Not only that, but kicking off World Princess Week is Grammy Award-winning recording artist Brandy with a new music video for “Starting Now” shot in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland! You might remember that Brandy starred in Rodgers & Hammersein’s Cinderella, so she knows something about being a princess.
You can catch the video on Disney Parks Blog and their social media channels on August 22nd!
Walt Disney World
Over in Disney World, guests staying in Disney Resort Hotels during World Princess Week can catch Movies Under the Stars featuring all sorts of princess movies. Want to party like a princess? Head on over to Disney Springs on August 21st and August 27th for a royal DJ dance party.
Guests can participate in a Tiana and Naveen-inspired paper crown giveaway in EPCOT, too, and Disney promises “many food and beverage offerings throughout the resort themed to your favorite royal friends.” We can’t wait!
Disneyland Resort
Disneyland guests can join Disney Artist and Historian Stacia Martin at WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney on August 21st from 12PM to 4PM or at the Grand Californian on August 22nd as she draws Disney Princesses before your very eyes. And if you’re staying at the Grand Californian Club Level, you might get the chance to chat with Stacia in the Veranda.
If you’re a Disneyland Magic Key Holder, you can stop by Stage 17 at Disney California Adventure for an exclusive photo opportunity and “magical extras” too!
Disneyland Paris
Guests can catch “The Royal Promenade,” a cavalcade of princesses and queens over in Disneyland Paris, and you just might find Princess Aurora and dancers behind Sleeping Beauty Castle for “Aurora Welcome Greetings.” Not only that, but there will be four exclusive Magic Shots available during the week, and free princess collectible cards too!
Can’t make it to one of these parks during World Princess Week? You can still dress up like your favorite Disney Princess or have your own princess movie marathon at home!
If you are heading to the parks, keep in mind that park pass reservations are still required — you can read more about that here. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news and more!
